I'm guessing this is the mage tower challenge?

    Congratulations! Looks awesome!

Congrats, I love the Prot Pally one.

Took me quite a few attempts as a Blood DK too.

At 138 wipes now. Kruul lowest 9%. Using Aggramar's Stride and Soul of the Highlord (the best legos I have for prot). 920 ilvl but terribly itemized. I want to destroy whoever put this challenge in the game

Yeah, it's easily the worst of the mage tower challenges I've attempted so far.

Congrats OP, recently did it myself but at 920. Couldn't imagine 908.

    Its a cool shield! Grats!

I took Sera and bursted him down and got 9 stacks then used the orb after I stunned him and the adds came out. That starting burst helped a lot.

Finally got it after like 30 tries,Seraphim, Sephuz, and Chain of Thrayn for that bursty burst. Actually died to Kruul at 2% but Kor'vas killed him so whatever lol

I did it recently too. I had 930 itemlevel and I still struggled a bit. I hear the tanking challenge is the hardest for paladins, and easier for the other tanks.

If you went and got some gear it would have taken you 6 attempts instead.

    Nice job!

The Prot paladin mage tower challenge is the worst of all of them, not just the worst of the tanking ones. Not really sure why blizzard wanted the bosses to have nearly 50% more hp than the other tank challenges when it launched originally, even after the nerfs it's still a nightmare.

Tank challenge never should've been about how much damage you can do, should've been about how well you can survive something.

What was your thought process on the choice of talents and legendaries? I've been trying the challenge myself, but the lowest I got Kruul was 12%.

Talents: Blessed Hammer is a no brainer, dmg reductions on horrors melee, holy dmg to eyes, can proc avengers shield multiple times, can stand on the edge of aura when nothing else is going on.
First Avenger: I macro'd avengers shield to always hit inquisitor and kruul for more dmg, interrupt from a distance. I suggest just putting a non-macro'd version on a keybind just in case you need to pick up horrors or kill them because you got knocked away.
Fist of Justice: Focus macro HoJ, and when you're leaving the aura after killing the horrors on top of inquistor to go kill eyes, stun him everytime, and pretty much stun kruul on CD
Cavalier: good for getting from point a to point b quicker, and for netherstomps
Hand of the protector: shorter CD on heals and healing the worse priest and DH ever if they're dying
Consecrated Ground: for the extra heals
Last Defender: Personally, there's already a ton of things to be looking for, last thing i wanted to do was pre plan shield charges to line up with seraphim when it comes off cd. sure i miss out on burst, but the dmg reduction and dmg increase from horrors and infernals all stacked on the inquisitor and kruul is a fair trade. Also when it came to seraphim, i felt starved for dmg reduction and i dont fuck around with judgment and blessed hammer to kill eyes, i just judgement into shield to kill them.

Legendaries: Definitely the legs, more dmg and more targets to hit = more aoe dmg, more absorb shields. I ran with Saruan's because i felt 2 charges are better than 1, shorter cd, and its always recharging. I tried to use highlords and pray i block mind rends but its unreliable. I tired to use the chest but phase one isnt as dmg heavy as phase two, so its not utilized. Then I tried to use shoulders, they worked well, but i still felt 2 charges of heals made things easier. Especially when you get chunked, heal up, and chunked again, like annihilates straight into netherstomps. I didnt have sephuz so i cant comment on that.

macros: For the Eyes i used

    #showtooltip Judgment
    /target Tormenting Eye
    /cast Judgment

after judgment i used shield of the righteous to finish them off since my crit was low, but crits to kill them in 1 hit

for inquisitor and kruul i used

    #showtooltip Hammer of Justice
    /cast [@focus] Hammer of Justice

    #showtooltip rebuke
    /cast [@focus] rebuke

    #showtooltip Judgment
    /cast [@focus] Judgment

    #showtooltip Avenger's Shield
    /cast [@focus] Avenger's Shield

if you arent killing eyes, every ability is aimed at inquisitor and kruul, unless you're knocked away and need to kill horrors on your way back to inquisitor.

Weakauras I used https://wago.io/KruulHelper to track stacks and had to assign a sound to play whenever annihilate was being casted.

consumables: Bear tartare, str flask, prolonged power, drums, gliders, runes (got the kill without them since i ran out)

    Thanx for the advice!

I mainly stuck with my original setup with using Seraphim, but I did use the WeakAuras provided. It helped me alot with the needed interrupts (namely Kruul's Twisted Reflection). Dodged and weaved the stomps, kept stuns and healy circles on cooldown...

And I finally got him down!

Sadly, I only have the default color for the shield, and not the ones for killing Heroic Kil'Jaeden and doing a number of dungeons (like I did for the Ashbringer). Is that by design, or is it some accidental over-sight?

Bad trinkets, bad level 100 talent choice and incredibly low item level. You could have done it in much less time if you knew how to sim trinkets and optimize your character better.

Now do the Outlaw rogue one....
When I went up the stair, I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today. I wish I wish he'd go away.

Would it therefore not be more impressive to do in in sub min/max setup then?

There's skill in doing hard things.

There's no skill in doing stupid things
