We already have CAPTCHA.. It kicks in for me 1-2 times per month..
Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

There needs to be stricter regulations on what new accounts can and cannot do. It's absurd that ONE account that is brand new can post several threads back to back to back on the same subsection at that.
Why are we even allowed to post our own threads at all until like a day or more after an account is made? And why are there no limitations on the number of times a new account can post a new thread? This really is getting out of hand and it's a damn pain in the ass because every night I come here to read threads there's like 12 spam threads trying to sell viagra or cranes from dubai or some stupid shit. lol.
example: The account "ggfdgfsgsd" made TODAY less than an hour ago has already posted NINE threads of a relatively same title on this forum entitled "
!!!DiVoRCe!!!FaMIlY) LoVe PrObLem SoLUtIoN BaBa Ji+⑨①-9928979713 In FirozAbA" but the end is just slightly different each time.
Account made an hour ago. NINE threads. WHY IS THIS POSSIBLE? Why are there not limitations? Even people with accounts 5 years old shouldn't be able to post more than one new thread of their own per hour, let alone an account 1 hour old.

Short-term, they could just not allow threads with too many asterisks or numbers in the title to be created. I doubt that would disrupt the normal use of the forum.
They could also check if other threads with a very similar name have been created recently. This would be done with a "uppercase" filter, since they seem to like writing like that Spongebob meme...
At the very least, force them to write a unique name for every thread or wait a few minutes between each. That'd slow them down.

Suggestion threads do get looked at just as frequently. Just because not all suggestions get implemented doesn't mean they're not looked at and taken into consideration. This thread should have indeed been posted in the S&F Forum.
That being said, we're well aware of the spam issues and are actively trying to solve it.
Well i hope you can find a way to defeat this spam
You can lock this thread if you like just know we are sick of this spam and please find a way to defeat it!

I got a mod post in less than i would ever have gotten in a suggestion thread!!
I think best solution for new posters when they create the thread, it will be hidden from everyone else and modelator needs to approve the tread so it can be seen by others.
This would apply for accaunts created on same day and at least 1 more week. (posts will be hidden too, to avoid spam in threads)
If mod checks the player is legit, he/she will get full option with no restrictions.
Don't sweat the details!!!
This may sound inconvenient, but it's probably less work than deleting all these spam threads one by one.
I'm not sure about posts, though. It'd be a kick in the nuts not to be able to participate in the forum at all without approval for the first week, and it could turn a lot of new people away from it.
I am sorry to be that guy but it'll be better for you to post this in the 'Suggestions and Feedback' subforum.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
You dont need to wait 1 week. Only for modelator to check if you are legit player.
The bots will see their posts and keep spaming, humans behind them thinking that modelators arent doing anything abauth them.

Yeah, but moderators aren't available 24/7, posting in an existing thread and having to wait an indeterminate amount of time for anyone else to see what you wrote feels very restrictive, and by the time your post goes up, the conversation may have moved on. You'd see people registering and not even trying to post for a week, waiting for that rule to go away, or just leaving the forum completely.
I'm fine with applying that to new threads, though. And not only for the first week, but for threads created less than an hour after another one and such.
