The TEA in tea party isnt a reference to tea, its an acronym for Taxed Enough Already. If these football players want to protest racial injustice, then they are free to do it, but they should do it in a way that is actually related to racial inequality. They are already playing a game for 16 days out of the year for millions of dollars, and minorities comprise over 65% of all NFL players, so there is no racial injustice there.
If they really want to affect change, then they should be marching to the Streets in Washington DC or their state capitols and demanding to talk with legislators, or get involved in politics themselves and work for change from the inside. Disrespecting the flag does nothing but piss off a large majority or their fans (people who pay their salaries), and doesnt solve anything
You attack their actions because of their perceived affect on your sliver of reality and then try to judge them because of their income?
And I thought all millionaires and billionaires were just smart businessmen, Orlong?

And seriously this. Anyone that waves around that bullshit dixie standard lost their right to criticize black athletes kneeling down for the anthem.
That piece of cloth should be fucking illegal, but "muh states rights and muh confederacy".
There is absolutely no basis for individual rights to firearms or self defense under any contextual interpretation of the second amendment of the United States Constitution. It defines clearly a militia of which is regulated of the people and arms, for the expressed purpose of protection of the free state. Unwillingness to take in even the most basic and whole context of these laws is exactly the road to anarchy.
When the NFL starts flying a confederate flag, then youll have a point, but no NFL stadium flies one. What people do in their own homes is on them. The players are free to play the National Anthem in their backyard and kneel all they want to.
Also, nobody (including the "protesters") have explained how kneeling for the Anthem correlates in anyway to racial injustice. Its like saying I hate pizza and it should be illegal, and then protesting it in front of an ice cream parlor
No, taking a kneel during an anthem and flag as an insult is just looking for a reason to be offended.
And conservatives are walking straight into that hypocritical trap.

Then why do you think walking on DC to be an effective strategy? With no cameras? No free publicity? If anything, he's using the media to promote the kneeling brand in the same way your god king got his presidency to become popular.

Incorrect. The origination of football can go back to 1869, for the first college game. In the 1880's the rules started slowly changing to transform it from rugby to the American football we know today. In 1920 the American Professional Football Association (APFA) formed. In 1922, they renamed it to the National Football league.
The Star-Spangled Banner was used by the navy in 1889. Congress made it the national anthem through resolution in 1931.
It didn't really catch on in football games until WW2, and after the war ended the NFL commissioner called for all teams to play it stating that it shouldn't be left out just because the war was over.
TL : DR - Football came first officially and unofficially.

You have the freedom of speech and expression. Oh, unless I don't like it, then you should shut up and do what you're told.
Wonderful.
Some foreign policy experts believe we're closer to nuclear war right now, than we were in October of 1962.
And the entire country is arguing over the god damn NFL.
Eat yo vegetables
I think they should be fine for not standing. It's in the rule books. But that money should go to some charity. Perhaps one that is in line with what they are kneeling for. They want to help then that will.
Wonder how long they would continue if it actually came out of their pockets. Would show how strong their conviction is to their cause(s).
If it starts costing players money, the people doing this for popularity will jump right back to their feet. There'd be some players with conviction that'd keep going, but c'mon. This is the NFL. The gross majority of players are there to make money and be fawned over by the public.
