Tell that to every expansion pre-wod. WoD and Legion are the only expansions that were announced AFTER the final raid tier was released.

and they are the only ones that follow a direct connecting storyline. It didn't matter how the Dragon Soul ended if we were going to Pandaria next, it WOULD spoil things if they revealed Garrosh is captured and escapes before Siege of Orgrimmar was released. So either

A: No expansion is announced
B: Its not related to the events of Antorus
C: Blizzard just don't care

You can announce a broad story arc without announcing causes. Lets say the wound that we here on MMO-C know about, but others may not, causes something that releases old god's, they don't need to reveal the causation just that the expac is about old god's. Or if its about Kul'tiras and Jaina they can gloss over details as to things that happen with sarg, and just give new, unrelated info.

Them not announcing an expansion would mean 18+ months of antorus and that would definitely be the game in the throws of death.
