When they first start getting the brown spots and no green is left is my fav but then at that point its a race against the clock and I've got to eat them quickly or they turn to mushy crap in a few days.
Room temperature, when it's just starting to turn brown.

Yellow and slightly firm for eating on it's own, a just starting to get some spots for cereal/sandwich, and quite spotty (no rot in the banana itself) for cooking.
Pure yellow is ideal for me. Though very slightly green or with minor brown freckles is OK too.
I prefer them, a yellow. not to brown so they get to much like mosh, but the worst is a green one. No one like those.
And people wonder why I only look at this site like once a week now a days. I eat them as intended when they are ripe (yellow) and straight out of the package like a normal person would.

^Listen to this man, for he speaks the truth.
I am generally not that much of a fan of bananas on their own, but I think they add a quite nice flavour to some smoothies. Some of our stores had incredible Banana/Coconut(/Pineapple) smoothies. <3
