Yeah really bad idea, but I am not speaking of USA alone.

Basically if the Church says " A vote for X is a vote for Jesus " they will dominate politics, as long as that candidate isn't utter trash.

Getting rid of religious tax exemptions would also get rid of Scientology. Win-win.

Yes, they should. They should also get deductions for performing community services and other things. Might get those fat useless churches to actually start doing things for the communities they exist in.

There is a relatively small church in Detroit. But it brings in so much money the pastor owns two $10M homes in a surrounding suburb. He pays no property taxes screwing that city out of money. Yes those types need to be taxed.

I know if the church buys and owns the house(s) then they don't have to pay property taxes, but I thought that pastors did have to pay property taxes on houses/land they own. Not saying you're wrong, just asking.
