    exotic dancers

I don't understand why strippers get such a bad rep. They're usually genuinely nice people who are only trying to provide for their families. If you ever actually talk to them they all have pretty interesting things to talk about. Yes I know they're promoting themselves but once you actually conversate with them they're pretty good people.

We all sell our bodies in one way or another.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

because most people assume that a stripper is also a prostitute even if that isn't the case.
We cannot go back. That's why it's hard to choose. You have to make the right choice. As long as you don't choose, everything remains possible.

Obviously because strippers almost universally come from the lowest rungs of the socioeconomic ladder and are exactly the types of people that most of us would look down upon regardless of their work ethic or personal character. People are just shitty like that sometimes, what can you say?

Most people are nice people in my experience, never really got much of chance to talk to strippers to find out if they were nice or not but I wouldn't be surprised if they were nice.

They are no different than actors, singers or any other entertainment performers. As long as they are not committing a crime, I see nothing wrong with it.

Because this is America and in America, sex and sexuality is bad.

Glorified violence is fine. But sex is bad.

Some of the nicest Canadians (French Canadian in this case) I've ever met were strippers in and around Fort Erie back in the late 80s.

They're degrading themselves. How can you be okay with that?

How many pilots do you know?

I know 2... that are decent individuals... personally (well one's a dirt bag but ah well). The rest I interact with make my job fucking hell. The things don't fly the way people think and some of them barely get the bird back on the ground. Soberintollerant cowboys... the lot of them.

the jury is out on whether stripping is degrading or empowering.... split down the middle with people letting their bias show when they comment on it.

Stripping is still a better entry level job than... well basically anything if they learn some financial responsibility. Strip for an amount of money you'll make in one night that matches the min wage job's monthly return.... I mean, unless you're the wednesday morning stripper type you're almost 100% going to be making more money as a stripper... and that's as a side gig.

You speak for all strippers on whether or not they feel degraded by their job?

Is anything related to sex "degrading?"

My favorite stripper at the Hustler Club in Shreveport, LA primarily works at a hospital. She is rather intelligent and holds a good conversation between dances. During her routine on stage she climbs to the top of a 20-foot pole, then slowly comes back down, upside-down to the beat of the music.

Very talented girl, and she more than earns her money. As far as I'm concerned she is doing what it takes to stay ahead in life. She has a more "meaningful" job at the hospital and makes some extra money on the weekends at the titty bar. More power to her.

What's wrong with strippers or even prostitutes? To be able to express and enjoy one's sexuality is a basic human need, these professionals provide a service that caters to that need.

That's your view. Theirs and others may be that they're empowering themselves.

No one should be judged badly for the way they live their life. Its their life to live and no one cares if you're okay with it or not.

A lot of exotic dancers have had issues their whole lives. Some were neglected or abused by relatives. Some literally dont know they have any self worth because of the conditioning thats been drilled into their head. Why should they be judged for that? Life isn't all rosey and rainbows for some of them, they've had difficult lives and some very bad experiences. If we've had those experiences then we should be more emphatic. If not then what right do we have to judge or think that way?

Plenty of people look at a stripper and believe that's the career he/she wanted to do. Most didn't. They do it for the money to get them through a hard time while sacrificing other things. Or Because they have a mental health condition.

People are too quick to judge strippers by thinking that about them. Quite frankly its stupid.
