WQs are just a progression from Daily Quests which have been around for a LOOOONG time.

World of Fancraft: Battle For Azeroth, huh? Well, I guess that's good, the players have all been asking for...well, pretty much everything that's in it. I guess Legion never happened. I guess it's good to step back from fighting the universe, to something smaller scaled. I won't be playing this one. (A troll continent? Fuck that noise) It's not horrible, I guess? Except that lore hit a brick wall. Oh well. But it's not compelling.

And they did it, those crazy bastards. They're doing vanilla servers. I want in on the death pool, I can make some serious cash here!

Edited to add: I'll admit it, I laughed when I saw they burned Teldrassil down. That'll take 6 years to fix, lol. Eh, why not. Burn it all down. Start over.
