Evangelicals really are the worst. Say what you want about Mormons and their crazy rituals, at least their beliefs are genuinely held and they will live by the values they profess. Christians, on the other hand, are mostly concerned with using the Bible to bash gays and keep women barefoot and pregnant, but will blatantly ignore anything that might restrict their conduct in any way.

Mormons are just a religion like any other. The main conflict I see is timing and location, which doesn’t change its validity compared to any other religion. Sorry... I just think they get a bad rap, for what really is inconsequential timing.

Eh, there's a lot of things they get a bad rap for. Racism and child marriage are the big ones. Until their splinter sects that still hold to those practices are gone, the mainline body is likely to suffer from guilt by association from the population at large.

I'm usually fine if people want to waste their vote by voting for niche parties, but when the choice is between a man who is a literal child molester and has been removed from his post in two occasions and a guy that while he is not your ideological equal he still shares a lot of your objectives, I'd assume that endorsing the latter would not be a hard choice to make. Unfortunately, ideological purity seems to be more important than the good of the nation and actually doing something to achieve your agenda.

Given that Moore thinks having same sex marriage in the United States makes it the focus of evil in the modern world and I'm sure many of his supporters feel the same they would toss him out in a heartbeat if it turned out that he was just being a massive hypocrite about his anti gay views.

Admittedly he was a democrat but I think the principle applies quite well to the current GOP.

It's really hard to keep faith in, make excuses for, and remain neutral towards mainstream Republicans when I have heard an overwhelmingly worrying amount of justification thrown around that "I'd rather have a child molester in office than a Democrat" from various sources both impartial or biased, online or off, and not surprisingly including from our president.

I think it's fair to say that we are way past the point of hypocrisy coming from a party that absolutely love to extol the virtues of morals and religion but only when it suits their political needs. And then they wonder why we are more divided than ever before, but hey don't you dare call them out on it because that's how Trump got elected in the first place .
