Why keep playing a losing game?

Reaching a specific rank or achievement in a competitive game can be a significant goal, and it's not uncommon for players to feel a mix of satisfaction and a loss of motivation once that goal is achieved.

So, when it feels like we're just dragging out a losing game in LoL and someone refuses to surrender, it can definitely be a head-scratcher, right? But I've noticed a few reasons why people might stick it out. Some folks really believe in the "never say die" attitude and think a comeback could be just around the corner.

Mistakes happen, even by the leading team, and sometimes, all it takes is one good fight to swing things back.

People in league are so quick and eager to attack and troll their own team mates lol. Half the time people who refuse to surrender are literally trolling/griefing their team mates purposefully

The team that went 0-40 is not going to be the team to scratch and crawl back into it lmao. People need to stop trying to insert their ego into a video game "never say die" lmao never touch grass more like it.

Simple, out of spite.

Surrendering would be the easy way out. You want your hated teammate(s) to waste their time and NOT have fun, to get back at them. If you just surrender, they are going to move on and forget about it. A game that ended at 15 minutes is not a slogfest, therefore it is the easy way out, therefore you can't spite your teammate(s) who earned your scorn.

It's called "Holding someone hostage."
