At least you got Gepard, he is remotely useful, his shield is quite good (although the usefulness of shielders seems to me much lower than in Genshin). I got Yanqing with my 50/50 loss, that one seems really useless. But i had luck, too, i got Acheron in the 20something rolls so all is good.

it's a big problem with mono target character (the hunt) compared to multi target character.
the aoe char are way too close on a single target to the specialist that are the hunts.
also there are adds everywhere, most respawning instant, of the boss having no vulnerability as long as the adds still have shields.

Nice! At least you got it. I got the LC too, in my 7th 10 pulls i believe. I had lot of jade, I'm fairly new. Well, I played at launch / whenever Seele was the banner, got her and stopped. So I came back to the game a month or so ago, maybe a bit more. Had all the content to do from frosty planet up to current, so yeah that was a lot of content to stack up jades. Even with those pull I'm still at 20k I think. I'm enjoying my time so far, like the story, I didn't think it would be something I'd enjoy in a f2p gacha. I might at some point put it aside again and come back later, but for now its a fun little game to play!

You are right. Even in most boss fights the adds are the most dangerous part, there is rarely just a single boss that you have to burn down fast (where single-target dps would excel). And most of the challenge encounters like the mirror or the birdcage is just burning down hordes of normal mobs fast. I semi-retiered Seele for that same reason.

Thank you Yes the story is quite nice, i didn't like space-china that much but the current stuff with the dreamworld is really interesting. And if you don't suffer from FOMO i think these games are easy to pause since there will always be a big amount of content when you come back.

Wuthering Waves looks pretty hot for Honkai/Genshin players.

It looks pretty neat, but I won’t say it’s great until we can actually get our hands on it. I’m looking forward to it though.

they seems to listen to the testers, at least on the color palet stuff, maybe we can hope on the systems too.
the 1st teasers were way too greyish and boring, and now it's more colorful.

we'll have to wait until WW is out and see the global sentiments on the game to know where to stand, some will hate it on principal (gatcha + pretty women ? burn it!!! now !!!!), and others will like it because wifus haha

Eh, Wuthering Waves combat looks like a clone of Genshin Impact. And I'm becoming less and less of a fan of Genshin's combat. Requiring gamer dexterity, a shit ton of RSI from rapid clicking, needing to make split second dodges, all that stuff. Also less of a fan of the standard open world stuff.

Much more of a fan of HSR's turn based combat. Letting you take your team and plan out your moves. Or just AFK and let the game farm those artifacts for you.

You can at least play stubborn ezmode tanks with Genshin if you don't like dodging all the time. Nothing is really difficult in the game and the end-game is a joke anyways, almost non-existent.

This is the biggest reason I also prefer the game over Genshin.

Gepard with the correct LC teaming with Acheron is a good team. I pushing to get acheron E2(got her at E1) but im happy by now.

Without a healer you just often have the situation that all enemies randomly focus one of your characters and punch through their shield and do damage that you can't heal. And if that happens again the character dies.
I had that happen twice in last patches story section where you play with that IPC guy (that is even a better shielder than gepard i think). At those boss chest encounters i had a dead character twice. So you can put an additional healer in the team but that diminishes you damage and the healer doesn't do anything 90% of the fight, which is not optimal either. But those 10% can mean a dead char or not.

So i'm not sure how to use them. Sure, if you run back to the anchor to heal every few fights or just use self-heal character it can work but compared with Genshin, where you can just run and dodge a few seconds before Zhongli can do a fresh shield, shields seem less useful in Starrail.

It's just bad luck. The chance of this happening should actually be much lower with a tank than with a healer, since a tank will naturally be stacking DEF, which increases the chance they'll be attacked. It's not going to be a 100% chance, but it does get high. With a healer, it's pretty much even for all characters. Of 5* healers, only Bailu has a panic button (Luocha's passive aside, but that has a cooldown), so if mobs decide to nuke a single character, there's a higher chance they will die with a healer in the team rather than a tank.

But this is strictly for MoC and PF and excluding SU, it's better to use a healer for SU, especially considering there can be random events dropping your characters HP and you can't use consumables. Overworld doesn't really matter, I think it's more convenient to use a healer there as well, but that's because I'm autistic about having full HP bars.

I'm not sure how that IPC guy works and if he stacks def, you couldn't see his talents and gear in the demo. Gepard comes with a build-in taunt so he gets attacked a lot more anyway. But even then, i tried to fight this bug boss with just Gepard and he died there. It worked well though with Gepard, Bailu, Imbibitor and Sparkle.
But you are right, in MoC and PF just Gepard works for many encounters.

I picked up Aventurine today, he seems to be a really solid replacement for Gepard, who has served me well since I began playing.

Now that I have 2 solid teams, and after getting a taste of it with the last event, I’m dreading relic farming. I’m guessing this is where the burnout will set in…

Figured rolling for Aventurine might give you extra luck in the wishes, but still had to take it to max pity before I got him. Still beating all my 50/50s though so if this keeps up, I might actually be able to stick to getting 1 new character every patch as F2P.

I don't think its that bad in starrail, you can craft specific pieces, even with a chosen main attribute. I got Neuvillette in Genshin and Acheron in Starrail basically at the same time and everything in getting the chars ready is soooo much more annoying in Genshin, Starrail really spoiled me there bigtime.

Feel like Fu is still a much better sustain unit than Aventurine. Her skill actually protects against mobs focusing on a single one of your units. With Aventurine I've found I'm often spending skill points for shields because someone is taking to much damage while everyone else is full sheilds. Really the only perk I can see Aventurine having over here is doing a bit more chip damage to mobs with his follow up attack.

She also has extra buffs that make it even more worth it. The crit chance buff, and the damage reduction. I think Fu Xuan is easily the best unit in the game right now. I don't go anywhere without her.
