So it turns out they did give a rating requirement for both of the S4 hunter axes, 2050.

omg no! what are we gonna do now? get the carecup police!
Yes both of the 1 handers require 2050, same as the ranged weapons. Just wanted to put it out there because people were complaining that Hunters were getting "Free" axes this season.
So hunters are the only class that has to have rating for both types of weapons....
Rogues have to pick up 2 weapons, both of which require an arena rating to be effective and our thrown weapon is merely a trinket.
Where as Hunters had only to pick up a single ranged weapon to be effective and then they got a free mainhander.
Maybe you don't like it, but it's fair. Hunters S3Axe > piddly thrown weapons.
You had deadly throw that is effected by a thrown weapon.
We have raptor strike
BOTH THE SAME YESYES?
Make the bow crossbow and Gun hunter only and 40 times better than the Throwing weapon then please.

Rogues have to potentially pick up 4.5 sets depending on different spec's where as hunters stick with the same 2 weapons regardless. Each time Blizzard gets a wild hair up their ass they change our spec's wildly and we've got to respec just to stay in the game. Happened at least 3 times so far. Did they add a PR for the thrown for warriors and rogues as well?
he said both types as in MH/OH and Ranged. Those are the types he is referring to, since, casters get their ranged weapons, wands, with no PR. Rogues and warriors do not have PR on their throwing weapons, and palidans, druids, and shamans dont have PR on their relics.Originally Posted by zushiba
You see the difference ?
oh and btw, they nerfed s3 axe for hunter
Here's just a thought: the two-handed axe comes with a lot more stats for a Hunter than a Libram or Wand does for classes that use those.
Who cares??? The season 3 two hand still has better stats than the s4 one handers combined.

this is lame,, so hunter melee weps require rating but the wand libram trown and the other shits dont ! gg
Except GOOD hunters dual wield to get the 30 int enchants, christ some people have no idea.Originally Posted by Panzur
This is the case that hunter plays mm and go for a drain team. Maybe he is playing bm specc and he is right in this caseOriginally Posted by Quazord
Obviously I see a difference but the fact remains that those relics, throwing weapons and wands do not equal the Hunter 2handed axe stat-wise which competes as a fully PR required weapon in and of itself where as those other items mentioned are trinket items.Originally Posted by shakeme
If they made it perfectly fair then they would have had a ranged weapon gun/xbow/bow that was Hunter only and had the same stats as the current iteration of the axe and then gave the axe the same stats as the thrown weapon with massively reduced damage.
You tell me which item scheme you want.
You'll do better as a hunter going MM than you will BM.Originally Posted by Devon

Poor hunters. I feel so sorry for them.
Just something worth noting, MOST if not all(all is too broad as I am sure some hunters understand where the rest of the gamers are coming from) hunters claim that this is a major nerf to them. Where as, MOST if not all others claim that this is fair...funny ain't it?
Everyone needs to understand that a rogue uses their deadly throw hardly ever(a warriors use of a thrown weapon is almost non-existent), there are times it is needed but its a lot less than a hunter who has to deal with any melee class that gets close to them, or a mage that blinks on top of them. A hunter uses that axe way more than a rogue uses DT.
Also hunters do DW for the bonus of having 2 enchants....when they farm, or in a raid. Please don't say that people do it in pvp as that axe is bad ass for pvp. Some may, but again the majority don't.
