    Re: WotLK come soon!

My opinion is going to be on Nov. 23rd, because everything that is games and movies get released on Tuesdays, and they will want it out before the big "After Thanksgiving Rush" so people can pay more money to spend more of their life infront of their computers :P

Looking at their total subscriber numbers, North Americans make up a surprisingly small(ish) percentage of them, so I'm not convinced they would look at a NA-only event when deciding the release date.

Late Nov, like 99.9% of big game releases, you wait to have it in stores for post-Thanksgiving but not too far into December, as people will be done with shopping.

    Re: WotLK come soon!

    February 2009.

Most raiddungeons still need to be designed and tested.
Most L80 dungeons and their heroic mode still need to be designed and tested.
Glyphs still need to be designed, implemented and tested.
New enchants, consumables etc. still need to be designed, implemented and tested.
The T7 sets and their stats still need to be designed.
The L80 PvP gear still needs to be added to the game.
The new Battlegrounds ain't functional yet.
Alot of talents still need to be added to the game (and tested.)
They still need to figure out for certain classes which new talents or abilities to give. (and let them be tested).
They're still busy figuring out how to tweak gear in WotLK, so most classes would have a use for it.
    And alot more....

Fuck me if they can add all that stuff in 3 months time. I can remember how by chrismas time they were already testing out Gruul's Lair on the beta and the new arena rewards were visible. And we still had to wait 2 months for the release. Now they're not even close to such a stage, so it would really surprise me if they managed to get it done in less than 4 months.

And by the time they'd have everything "finalized". We'd still need to wait about a month for all the game copies to be produced and sold to distributors, equally across the US and the EU.

Shacknews reported that according to Mike Morhaime (Blizzard Entertainment's CEO), Wrath of the Lich King will be released between October and December 2008
Letting representatives make vague statements about release dates to random third parties. This is the typical cheap trick marketeers use to get people hyped up and kept interested in their product. A trick they often use when they made publicity for a popular brand, but know they'll have to keep their customers waiting for a long time still. Release dates that are given like this are -never- correct. Correct release dates are -never- published like this.

So once again ... February 2009.
