druid, warrior, mage, rogue, warlock, deathknight, warlock, priest, shaman, paladin.

specced however it needs to be to get 1 MT, 1 OT, 2 healers, and 6 dps.

Because I like the synergy of using one of each class. =)

    G1: warrior tank
    resto druid
    holy paladin
resto shaman/holy priest (depending on raid)
    mage/lock

    G2: druid tank
    enhance shaman
    hunter
    rogue
fury warr or another ranged dps.

Re: Your ideal 10man raid group in WotLK

    1. forget about group 1, group 2. Pretty much all buffs effect the whole raid.

    2. don't focus on who's better. Focus on filling out the buffs to cover as much as possible which as little overlap as possible.

The only part I'm sure of is taking a prot paladin, which is bad news for resto druids since it makes their tree aura nearly useless.

Re: Your ideal 10man raid group in WotLK

    Prot war MT
    DK OT

    Resto Druid
    Resto Shaman

    Fire mage
    Moonkin
    Destro lock
    Survival hunter
    Rogue
    Shadow priest

This is more a list of what our groups are likely to contain than ideal. And before it's mentioned i know having just 2 healers in a progress 10man raid is ill-advised but assuming we go about WotLK the same as TBC then we'll be draped in heroic/badge gear (if a similar system gets implemented in WotLK) before we go raiding.

Re: Your ideal 10man raid group in WotLK

My bunch of friends will be using one of each class, just for the heck of it. The group setup will be:

    1 x Tank
    2 x Healer
    2 x Caster
    1 x Ranged
4 x Melee, of which 2 can function as Off-Tanks

More specificly, even though groups won't matter if the raid-wide buff thing go through:

    Group 1;
    1.Protection Warrior (Main Tank)
2.Feral Druid (Damage Dealer/Off-Tank #1/Re-spec Jump-in Healer if needed on some encounter) <--- me!
    3.[best damage spec(probobly Blood)] Death Knight (Damage Dealer/Off-tank #2)
4.[best damage spec] Rogue (Damage Dealer)
    5.Enhancement Shaman(Damage Dealer)
    Group 2;
    6.Holy Paladin (Healer)
    7.Holy Priest(Healer)
8.[best damage spec or frost] Mage (Damage Dealer)
9.[best damage spec] Warlock (Damage Dealer)
    10. Survival Hunter (Damage Dealer/Mana-battery]

We believe this will work pretty nice. Creates a nice atmosphere when everyone is unique too. :P
My previous raid guild, which I raided with for 2 years, ran all 10-man instances with 2 healers, and we believe that will do it in most cases.

Re: Your ideal 10man raid group in WotLK

In tbc I already had a 9-10 man group that did 10 mans. started at lvl 1 when tbc came out and only played together 4 hours a friday evening.
Basicly when we hit 70 we did 2 weeks to get all attuned to kara and cleared full kara in 5 fridays after this.

WE did this with feral druid tank MT (me) Prot pally offtank (his first lvl 70) 1 BM hunter 1 Moonkin 1 elemental shaman 1 mage 1 warlock and 2 holy priests (1 priest being lvl 70 for first time also)
we normally took 1 random player with us.

After after some 5 more weeks of clearing kara and gathering some badges (some players also during other days doing heroics) we went into ZA at this point a rouge joined the crew, and clearing that fully within 7 fridays.
we started out doing this with 2 healers also but the 5th boss did not work that well so the moonkin or elemental shaman respecced to healing also then.

Looking forward to doing all raid instance with my friends in wotlk

What's that supposed to mean? 10-man will be the One thing to do in Wrath of the Lich King. Why would anyone care to be in a 50 people guild, fighting over 25 spots and farm for gear for dozens of people when you can team up with 10 of you actual real life friends and play with the same people every single raid and avoid having to repeat the same instance over and over again to gear up people while still getting to see the same content, the same storyline, as those who stick with the 25-man deal? 10-man is the shit. God bless Blizzard!

Re: Your ideal 10man raid group in WotLK

    Tanks:
    Prot Warrior (Main Tank)
    Feral Druid (Off Tank)

    Heals:
Holy Paladin (Main Heals and Blessings)
Holy Priest (Raid Heals and Fort)

    DPS:
Rogue [whatever spec does best DPS] (Main Physical DPS)
Survival Hunter (Secondary Physical DPS / Mana Battery)
Shadow Priest (Caster DPS / Mana Battery)
Mage [whatever spec does best DPS] (Caster DPS)
Lock [whatever spec does best DPS] (Caster DPS)
Moonkin (Caster DPS / Crit Aura)

This gives you a Soul Stone and 2 Battle Rez. Two Mana batteries who also do good DPS to insure your healers will never OOM. Also an off-tank who can switch to DPS almost instantly if its not needed. Mage food/ports and Warlock Debuffs in addition to their insane DPS. Plus a Moonkin to increase Crit. Not to mention Misdirection, Tricks of the Trade, and Vigilance to insure aggro is never lost. For Healing we get Blessings, Fort, and Druids pick up GoTW/Thorns. Healing has HoTs, AoE heals, and great direct burst Healing as well as mana efficient healing.

Im not sure how this could get much better...

PS. Death Knight can take Rogue or the Druid OT position if needed depending on spec.
PSS. If 3rd healer is needed Moonkin can respec Resto and hop in)

    10 hunters (+pets), various specs /cheer

    Seriously!

10 DPS classes, 10 tanking pets with growl (the bosses would be confused as to which one to kill first), hunters can heal/rez pets at will; 3 die, 7 left, the 3 are rezzed in combat, etc....

If a hunter draws aggro, FD. Freezing traps everywhere. Totally FTW!!

    8)

I wonder why people don't usually invite me to raids tho....
Such brilliant ideas I have, and no one seems to appreciate them....
So far ahead of my time....
    Is it because I'm bald?
