    New windfury totem improvement

As you know in WotLK windfury totem gives us 16% haste and can be improved to 18/20%.
So using most popular 2.6sec main hand weapon and without haste at all with flurry and improved to 20% WFT active we'll have 2.6*0.7*0.8=1.456 attack speed and WF can proc every third hit. If we won't improve WFT it will be 2.6*0.7*0.84=1.5288 attack speed which let our WF proc every second hit. I think this can provide more DPS!

    Am I right?

*It's my first post and sorry for my english

your maths are wrong, but i'm too tired to work out why

    Re: New windfury totem improvement

    30% flurry brings 2.6 down to 2.0. (2.6/1.3)
    20% wf brings 2.0 down to 1.66 (2.0/1.2)

And also, even if you bring swing speed below 1.50 its still an increase in dps since you get more white dmg, more mw procs and so on.

Regardless of the math, the theory is slightly flawed.

If you're talking about the internal 1.5 second cooldown on windfury, it's pretty irrelevant if you want to try and stay ABOVE 1.5 attack speed. While WF COULD proc every second hit as you say, it won't.

Ultimately it really won't make that much difference. More importantly, even if NOT taking the improved WF totem did increase your dps (we're talking very slightly here), the raid is missing out on that extra 4% haste. That's a lotta extra dps there. If you're that concerned about it, or that keen to try it out, I'd recommend only putting four points in flurry instead. Still, I think you'd find it not worthwhile.

EDIT: For the record I don't actually know for certain that there IS an internal cooldown on windfury, I made an assumption. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Gives your WF a "chance" to proc every second hit.
There's no such thing as guaranteed.

Haste effects are additive, not multiplicative.
    30% from flurry and 20% for windfury = 50% haste = 2.6 / 1.5 = ~1.74

    Ohh I see...
    That makes everyone wrong :P
    It's like this: 2.6 / 1.2*1.3 = ~1.67

EDIT: oops, only makes me wrong :'(

    Re: New windfury totem improvement

Haste percent modifiers (bloodlust, flurry, windfury totem and so on) are multiplicative.
Haste rating (on gear) is additive with itself and haste rating procs (dragonspine trophy, blacksmith maces and so on), and the total amount of haste rating currently active is converted into a multiplier which is multiplied ontop of the other multiplicative modifiers.

    2.6 * ( 0.7*0.8 ) = 1.456 ....

edit: ok... 1.67 is right -.-
