Will moonkin tanking be impossible in WotLK?

What with resiliance not working in PVE. Seems like it will be. Hopefully someone will find a way to continue this challenging, yet fun, side to the balance tree.

Tankin in moonkin was, will be, and is never possible.
You dont have leather with spelldmg and +defense, no dodge, no parry, no other mitigation (lets not mention block), nothing other than a minimal armor mitigation which doesnt make a difference good enough.
In pvp, resto druids, locks, rogues, even mages can tank a whole lot better.
In pve its really pointless even to try.

Sorry you can no longer tank tier 4 content. If you are still said I recommend either rerolling a warrior, or possibly speccing feral.

Exactly. Obviously tanking in bear form would be much more efficient. But its also boring. Being able to do things out of the ordinary, like moonkin tanking keeps this game interesting. Everything in this game comes down to exactly the same thing. Do you have the right gear/spec to do what needs to be done? Blizz should focus more on improving the talent trees so "hybrid" specs work. So that unique play styles can be fun, and rewarding.

I think the concept of tanking should not exist. It should be more like Tabula Rasa and a mass slaughter instead. You know, continue waves of armies that you need to destroye.

This is not world of samecraft? What? Thats why everyone specs a specific way for Arena/PVP or raids, right? Thats why everyone wears exactly the same gear and use the exact same enchants, right? Thats why in WotlK specific specs offer even less unique utility, right?

Possible Moonkin Tanking specc, feral talents is only to become crit immune without resilience :P Tbh I could see Moonkin tanking trashmobs....they just keep Typhoon up and stand in it....this will force the mobs to go into the Typhoon and get pushed back :P

Typhoon can't be "kept up" and you can't stand in it. It actually casts like Cone of Cold or Dragon's Breath, and it has a 20-second cooldown.

If you had a decent healer, it was completely possible. And if you had a bad tank it was inevitable. As long as boomkins can keep dishing out mass amount of damage, they will be tanking whether they like it or not, if only for a few pulls an instance.

Lol, they gave moonkin armor for the same reason bears get extra armor. They have no shield. Unlike mages, they have no magic sheild to pop up, or any way to drop their aggro, so they get extra armor so they can get hit a couple times.

Actually if u're NE moonkin, u can shadowmeld every two min to drop aggro... u could also shift cat and cower (though a waster of mana but technically you can)



as far as moonkin tanking.... you don't necessarily have to be wearing sp dmg gear to tank in... a moonkin tank can put on a mix of pvp/tank gear, avoidance accessories, and a spell weapon....before when moonkins had a talent that let them regen mana thru melee dmg there was a few ppl who theorycrafted and actually said they MT'd a few dundgeons and heroics.... in my opinion yeah u can probably pull it off.... it probably goes in the same pile as hunter/warlock pet tanking instances.... it can be done... just not the convention.
