Which pure dps class?

In classic wow I played a healer, in tbc I played a tank. So this time in Wotlk I want to play a dps class. But I am in big doubt which class to choose so I decided to make a poll, and let the poll decide for me instead.

why not? shadowpriest brings stamina and manaregen can offheal and does same damage as a mage/hunter/rogue/warlock, so hybrid is better imo, he might aswell respec with his healer or tank

if they fix the OOM tree aka Fire then you might want to try out a mage.

AS it stands frost and arcane do significantly less dmg in raids in WOTLK so you might not like the fact hybrids would beat you in meeters thoes specks.

Rigth now its looking liek locks will top the pure dps once again so if your going to reroll a class I say go with the one that will bring utility and best dps out there! Everyone loves lock rocks :P

Hunters do DPS - But they trap. CC != DPS.
Mages do DPS - But they polymorph, buffs and gives food/water to their groups/raids. CC/Support != DPS.
Warlocks do DPS - But they summon, make healthstones, CC and buff the party. CC/Support != DPS.
Rogues do DPS - But they sap. CC != DPS.

So please, explain, which class is pure DPS since you wont seem to accept answers like Shadow Priest, Retribution Paladin and Balace Druids.

How do you figure that? I made a mage and levelled it to 70, and it's the most boring raiding I've had ever. Even my holy paladin requires more buttons and concentration (by far). =P

Fail. It´s the ability to choose a spec to decide what you want to do, that´s why your mentioned classes are pure ones

SV hunter is/was a support spec

as a shadow priest I'm healing quite a lot. times when we gave to stop dps I'll swap weapon and heal given that mana isn't an issue on many fights this happens.

ie, za last boss (eagle phase I throw PoM's around), kalegos (when dragon is too far in front)

A pure DPS class is a class which is made only For DPS.

That is not the case for priest, shamy, drood or Paladin.

Ekhm.... hybrids?
There is no such thing like hybrid in WoW. Hybrids can do 2 or 3 things equally effective at once, Shaman CAN be pure dps or pure heal, but there's no way they can do both.

Only hybrids i saw is shaman or DoK in Warhammer online, while doing dmg they heal, they have dots that heal friendly units, heals, that also damage hostile units, basically spells of this classes are designed to do damage AND heal at same time, and they don't have to change sets from healing to dps, and wow classes have only spells to do one, dps OR heal (or tank).

Yea, SPriest can heal, but will he do it as effective as dmg he'll deal? no.
Every class CAN be dps depending on build, and saying that "spriest isn't PURE dps" is false - at the end of the raid he can be on top dps, so yes, he is PURE dps. Same goes for shamans, druids etc - every class can be PURE dps, if they'll spec dps, they wont be healing or tanking, because builds they've choose are not for that "second role".

If author of this thread want PURE dps i suggest choosing your style of gameplay and play that way. Every class can do dps, in wotlk hopefully every class can do it good.
And if you want "own every1 in dps" then choose good dps class, not overpowered and not nerfed. in that way you won't be nerfed in future, and you don't have to wait endlessly for buffs - you'll be just... good.
