    Boomkin > Everything in the game WHY!?

    A little quote "

    Balance

    * Earth and Moon changed from 5 to 3 ranks and now increases spell damage taken by 4/9/13% for 12 seconds and increases your spell damage by 1/2/3%. (Old - Increased Arcane/Fire/Frost/Nature/Shadow damage by 3/5/8%)
    * Eclipse now increases damage done by Wrath by 20% (up from 10%) and has a chance of increasing your critical strike chance with Starfire by 30%. (Up from 15%)
    * Moonfury changed from 5 to 3 ranks. Now increases damage done by Starfire, Moonfire, and Wrath by 3/6/10%. (Old - 2/4/6/8/10%)


    WHY BLIZZARD FFS WHY!? Nowdays boomkin do 3000 Dps and they still upgrade it , EHHH Tards from Blizz ;(

    True our dps is pretty high atm, maybe even need a nerf, (well think the glyph change might be a small one, depending on how it works). But really it quiet depends on how all classes will look at 80. Not gonna say its dfefinately fine, but I've only seena few nax parses, with a moonkin, and on those moonkins weren't top, or far ahead.

    I am kinda waiting for Boomkins/Moonkins to be balanced slightly..... it seems blizzard has their usual blindspot for druids... one of the "official & sponsored" op classes...

    You ppl still dont get it? Balance druids are a pure dps class.
    Hybrid is a crapout excuse, utility specs no longer exist.
    Everyone was given utility and many of them do not stack, all dps specs were supposed to be balanced (balanced at level 80 btw) so all you QQers can just shutup and enjoy the game.

    Ran BT last night with a guild that has barely progressed, 1 shotted the first 3 bosses and guess what.. no one cared what the dps meter said because it doesnt matter. Raid instances are nerfed, ppl talents are out of control, wait for 80

    Also, this is very sad that you're complaining about PVE, since it's for your own good, if your raid does more damage, consider YOURSELF buffed.

    If you're a good player you'll have your raid spot, if you're not a good player, then don't complain.

    Eclipse is still implemented badly, the way it's designed is a flaw in itself.

    Anyway Blizzard fixed our craptascular dps at lvl 80 by buffing base damage of spells.
    This has 2 implications:
    1) Big damage at lower levels, just because they didn't bother thinking about 1 month of lvl 70 (rightfully so).
    2) Bad scaling, base damage only scales slightly with haste but not with spellpower etc.


    The changes were made because we had too many required talent points in our tree and couldn't actually make a proper spec at level 80, with 4 more talent points a moonkin won't be gimped anymore and will be a proper dps spec like every other one out there.

    Just remember to not whine about lvl 70 locks and check what you'll be able to do at 80, Level 70 will be insignificant in less than a month, just have some fun and don't spend it crying.

    Curious? How many "pure" dps classes are there?

    After looking I came up with this.

    Rogues, Mages, Hunters, Warlocks...

    Thats all I can really see, nothing else falls in this line.

    Some people might say warriors, but we are hybrid to, we may not have a healing tree, but we have a tanking tree, and even though im doing 800dps (Im not the best geared tank in the world.. but meh) Im still a tank, thats my primary role. But I could DPS too if I switched. So im a hybrid.

    There is not that many "pure" classes anymore, even rogues/hunters arent pure. They can be straight dps, or they can spec to be raid helpful, like the survival tree mana regen on crits, (not sure what rogues have, but I know they do too.) There are probably some for mages and warlocks as well, so even then they aren't really "pure".

    The big thing is, why does it matter? So what your e-peen isn't going to be at the top of the meters all the time. Your still going to be in raids, your still going to get gear. There are going to be NO bosses that 2700 dps will be picked over 2900 dps, no one will be on a timer to need to min/max that way. IT WILL NOT MATTER. The only real time damage matters is in PVP, when a missed interrupt or a bad stun really can mean the difference of winning and losing, otherwise who cares?

    Personally, I think damage meters are probably the worst thing invented, it creates a lot of unneeded stress of people thinking just because 2700 is worse then 2900 they will never get to do anything ever. Thats a 7% decrease from eachother.. it wont matter, it never will matter.

    "What about brutallus type situations!!!" It still wont matter, because there are people who make up the difference no matter what, they are already super geared and will not only meet there cap but exceed it, so in the end it will still balance.

    Thats my view on it.

    Unfortunately, in our gaining 4 points, we essentially lost 3 more because not taking Eclipse hurts our DPS. Oh, and our Starfire Glyph got changed so now Moonfire falls off.

    We may do great DPS, but we have the most complicated rotation in the game.

    Moonfire
    Insect Swarm
    Wrath until Eclipse Procs
    Starfire until Eclipse Procs
    Wrath

    Also don't forget to re-cast Moonfire and Insect Swarm when they drop off. Also you can't be moving when Eclipse procs or you'll lose DPS there. Also if you fail to cast Starfire 3 times after Moonfire first goes off you'll lose DPS. Also if Eclipse procs when you're ready to re-cast Moonfire and Insect Swarm, well, you'd better make a decision whether to take the proc or re-cast the two other spells.

    It hurts my head now...

    at level 80 they arent all that remarkable... like i didnt have a problem fighting them on my hunter or shaman so... thats prolly why they're getting buffed

    Well atm it really is just Monnfire, and then starfire till boss is dead. =P

    Tbh I welcome a more complicatd cast cycle as long as its worth it. People can say what they want but its a game too its supposed to be fun doing whatever you do, not just top meters. =O

    Also panoramixe, made a very valid point, we kinda got a huge chunk of our increased damge from the base damage buff, I mean on average our main nukes damage where increased by 50%, to compensate for our (then) low dps at 80.

    I welcome a bit more complication, which they did with just the Starfire Glyph change. Eclipse wasn't necessary. It was like... 100 DPS or so. But now it's 500 DPS with 3/3 points.

    With just the Starfire glyph change, the rotation would be:

    Moonfire
    Insect Swarm
    Starfire x3
    Wrath

    When you refresh Moonfire, that's when you start the cycle over again.

    I still think GC should make Eclipse an Activated ability... but that'll never happen.

    Go play an affliction warlock

    Corruption
    CoA
    Siphon life
    Immolate
    Unstable Affliction
    Haunt
    Shadow Bolt at >25%
    Drain Soul at <25%
    Life Tap
    And finally Pet management.

    I'm not sure why so many people QQ about different classes in the game. As far as PVE is concerned, the more damage or healing or protection any class can do, the better it is for the raid. It seems that some people are so god damn concerned about their own DPS/DMG so much that they could give a shit if it's helping out the raid as a whole. Since patch I've moved from about 6th place on the meters to 1st/2nd...and my guild was ecstatic. No one QQ'd about how OP I was. They were happy that there was more damage happening. So piss off on QQ'ing about moonkins in PVE; we're helping the raid out.

    Yeah, but the difference is you're not spamming something waiting for a proc to happen.

    Eclipse is a 100% chance on a Starfire Crit to proc increased Wrath damage and a 60% chance on a Wrath Crit to proc increased Starfire Crit. It lasts 15 seconds on a 30 second cooldown. So it's a chance on a chance for it to happen. If I have an unlucky streak, I could be waiting for a very long time for the proc to happen. Or, like almost always ends up happening, I won't get the proc until the mob is dead.

    2) raid slots
    3) pve dps can translate partially into pvp damage
    4) epeen
