I got 26% dodge, 29% parry, 31k unbuffed HP Hit capped, 26 expertise. Fully buffed get like 27 to 28% dodge, 30% parry 40K HP

Pure avoidance is great but dont sacrifice block for too much of it or you will find yourself with more spikey incoming damage witch is the bane of healers everywhere.


Healers will love you if you take 5k damage every second rather than 15k every 5 to 10 seconds with a chance of two back to back!

I have 32k hp unbuffed at 55% avoidance with 1300 block value, 5% hit, and 7% expertise (useless)

Just curious if anybody has gotten to 30k hp with def cap and descent avoidance...

Not so hard to reach those stats.
Only half of my Tanking gear is from Hero Raids, and i got 29800 HP, 540 Def, around 50% aviodence (obviously, w/o holy shield)

27k hp unbuffed with full 25 naxx gear...I did not stack stam but focused on str, exp, and hit. I feel like 26-28k hp is perfect for the encounters thus far in teh expansion

On the contrary, I think it's interesting to see what the norm is now. When this thread was created, the world first kills were just happening. Now that everyone and their mother has seen KT/Malygoes/Sarth and farmed them for a good few months we know what the highest obtainable numbers are.

If I were to put on the "MT" set, I'd have 55% avoidance and 30k health. My gimmick stam set goes higher but there are very few encounters were stacking stamina pays off.

~31% block
~20% dodge
~20% parry

does that mean i have ~71% avoidance?

About this avoidance, isn't it calculated somehow like this:
Dodge% + Parry% / 2 = Avoidance
So magehater's avoidance here would be 20%+20%/2 = 20% right?

And yes, almost everyone has 30k unbuffed HP these days.

Avoidance is Dodge% + Parry% + Miss% from defense (Mouse over your def. to see your chance to be missed from it) +5% chance all bosses have to miss. Assuming he's def. capped, which would give 5.6% chance to be missed, he'd be at 20% parry +20% dodge +5% boss miss chance +5.6% from def, 50.6%.

Hmm.. my Dk has about 25% dodge or so.. 17% parry
530 def (Have that trinket that jumps it to 540)
and over 30k HP

Avoidance is dodge chance + parry chance + miss chance.

Block is mitigation, not avoidance.
