    "Insane DPS"

    Hi folks!

Ok so lately ive been reading a lot of dps "articles" and stuff, and finally, today, ive got totally confused
(And no, we can't buff other DK specs and other classes to 7000 dps or whatever to compensate.)
7000? how is it possible, i mean where do those numbers come from?

I am really frustrated atm, i when we did naxx 10 man my highiest dps as a frost was 3000 on Thadius, ( i have about 16.51% hit with spells without buff food). I am specced for DW frost ( http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jZG0et0xdRhRV0sxfMhoxcoo ) an my rotation is

PS, IT, HB, BS, BS, IT, IT, IT, IT, PS, PS (on a single target)

how can i improve my dps at least to 5000k on a single target?

I believe most of this silly dps is on aoe packs with unholy blight etc. our DK is very well geared and does about 4k on patch but others still top them

    Re: "Insane DPS"

We knew there was a risk in taking the Howling Blast cooldown off. Unfortunately, we saw dual-wield DK numbers as high as ever even with the Killing Machine and Gargoyle nerfs. It typically only happened when the DK was fighting multiple targets, which suggests Howling Blast is the right thing to change.

We still agree that a cooldown makes rotations more awkward, and we will continue to look for an implementation that lets Howling Blast be off a cooldown without all death knights feel like they need to DW Frost or go home.

IF u would have read the rest it's clearly ferred on how much dps DW frost was doing on MULTIPLE targets on PTR when howling blat was without cd.

Hack the game and change all your dmg to be x1000.
5.000.000 dps is quite a lot to ask, heh.

You should post your Armory so we can check it in detail, there's just wild assumptions with our current knowledge of your gear.

Also 3k DpS for 10 mans is ok, except you went in with:
Heroism, +10% AP, 3% Dmg, 3% Retri-Haste, 5% Spell Crit, 3% Crit Debuff, 5% Melee Crit, Kings, Might/Battleshout, Strength of Earth, Sunder Armor, and some other buffs I might have missed out.

Spec 0/32/39 to begin with. Why 21 points in Unholy without Gargoyle? lol

Hope that's 10man patch, cause 4k is lowish for 25man if he's so well geared.

    Re: "Insane DPS"

2 of our DKs regularly do 5k5 to 6k DPS on 25man Patchwerk. Of course they top the DPS charts with that, but are closely followed by 2 warlocks with 4k5 to 5k DPS.

    Re: "Insane DPS"

How long do your Patchwerk fights last?

Close to 4 minutes is gargoyle love, at less than 3 minutes it's another storry.
4 Minute fight = 50% of the time the gargoyle is active
3 Minute fight = 33% of the time the gargoyle is active

A difference of like 500-600 DpS that is...

Patchwerk is all about burning lots of short cooldowns at the right time, it's no good benchmark...

If you insist on going FotM, at least know how to use it.

What the hell is that spec? And that rotation?

When GC nerfs our specs purely on the basis of the number of people using them (Ref. His last post on HB cooldown) it's not the number of people using them well - clearly its the number of wannabe's trying to emulate them.

is the FotM build (NotD is optional for Crypt Fever for some people).

    Re: "Insane DPS"

7k dps should be possible, because our guild has DK and even a Warrior wich do 6.5k DPS and even more

    Lineage 2 (2004-2007)
    World of Warcraft (2005-Present)

Really, Thadius DPS is pointless to brag about.

My WWS parsed my goul and gargoyle properly, I usually tank and used the leftover gears I collected as DpS gear http://wowwebstats.com/hb4rgjl6guyjm
I know it's no perfect show there but eh, it was just for fun with a slow/fast combo and 0/32/39 Spec

Actually it didn't. Go through each of your fights looking at what it parses. After Heigan (where your Ghoul 1st Ghoul almost certainly died) you have no Ghoul parses.

This is because there is a well reported bug with WWS (which has been abandoned by its Devs btw) where only the first Ghoul of each raid is counted because the parses don't pick up the new Ghoul's name (it keeps looking for the old Ghoul's name in the Logs - which of course it will never find).

On Thaddius everybody has anywhere between 9 to 15 stacks(9-11 is most likely, 15 is when you're "lucky" to get it)

So dps is doubled, that rogue actually did 6.3k dps(rough estimate), not 12k

    Re: "Insane DPS"

I don't realy understand why people keep asking things like "why can this or that class do so much dps". These things are almost all based on gimmick fights. And 7000dps on Thaddius aint all that much. Even my warrior did an average of 9 to 10k dps on that fight, 1 try with 11.2k, and that was without a Blood DK for Hysteria, no Ret Pala in the raid, old TBC flasks etc etc.

It's just how some of the class mechanics work. Warriors for example get great benefit from there Deep Wounds (I often see numbers of 40k passing by in my scrolling combat text). Only thing that I feel is weird is that, maybe because of people going "zomg haxx overpowered!! nerf" due to such fights, Blizzard is gimping perfectly normal an not OP talents, or adjusting things that aren't needed.

He only quoted that because it informed him that some DKs can do around 7k dps, and he is wondering how he can possibly get to that point.
