crit cap/usefullness at higher %

stack strength and crit then go dps'ing in a raid. lets see how high you'll get without hit and expertise.

I've been getting 1st overall and 2nd or first on boss fights the past 2 weeks with 150 hit rating and not nearly enough expertise.

maybe 3%? not even sure because I don't care.

STR is always bether than hit for a ret paly no mather how low hit u got.
and u know why?

that is because maximum amount of miss % is not enough to outwight the dps increase STR does.
STR is bether and as far as i know it wont be changed, atleast not in 3.1

for crit in other hands, it shudn't be stacked by sockets or enchants.
go STR all the way, if u come across yellow socket u go for 8 crit/str.
for blue sockets i sugest u go for 16 AP and 3mp5s. as the 8 str does not exist.
and if there doesn't exist any str enchant for curent gear slot, u go AP

tbh, thats gonna be a really good socket bonus to outweigh the loss of ap from using the AP gem over the STR one (i guess it would have to be a +str bonus) - so normally you should stack +str gems in those sockets also ...

Just stack Strength like every other Retr Paladin. The majority do so for good reasons.
