Re: We just got DoT protection

Not that I'm not happy for shadow priests... But if the Psychic Horror change makes it to live, they BETTER put Viper Sting back to the way it is, or hunters have absolutely no way to counter a priest anymore -.-

RANGED disarm... that also horrorfies... right...

The viper sting was nerfed BECAUSE of priests, which nerfed hunters vs other casters, AND nerfed marksmans 51 point talent in the process, then they give shadow priests psychic horror...

SO many things wrong with that, I won't even touch.

So... what CAN stand up to a shadow priest 1 on 1 if these changes go live, if I might ask?

Re: We just got DoT protection

Yep, it fizzles and leaves them with just about enough health left for SW to be an one-shot kill
I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

Re: We just got DoT protection

From what I see, 1 of 3 things needs to happen:

    1. Psychic Horror no longer disarms ranged weapons.
    2. Psychic Horror has a 5-10 yard maximum range implemented. This would let you retain your usefulness against Rogues, and allow you to disarm hunters foolish enough to let you get that close.
    3. Hunters gain an innate ability that makes their pet go into a frenzy and become un-CCable when their ranged weapon is disarmed. This would at least keep a pet on the priest to have some sort of defense.

Re: We just got DoT protection

It will be great for popping on a hunter when you're low on health, possible combined with a fear on his pet, and healing up.

Seriously, not a lot of abilities can touch the unsilencable, unkitable, un-manaburnable hunters. It's most welcome.

    Hahaha.

    No.

Stop whining about the fact that your free HKs might actually be able to fight back now.

I honestly just made an account so I can laugh at this. You obviously have no idea how balance works if you think that somehow the 2nd most overpowered pvp class deserves immunity to CC for no reason other than that you might not be able to bind your entire keyboard to Explosive Shot and faceroll your way to 2300. That's how CC *works*.

Re: We just got DoT protection

Hunters and Rogues have the most retarded communities ever.

Don't slap the DK bullshit into my face, because we actually accept our nerfs, our community is actually more mature then many seem to think.

Seriously, whenever I go into a BG, I get pwned by explosive shot critting for insane amounts. On my DK, I can kill them, yes, because I'm a tank, and I can mitigate a lot of their physical damage and pet damage.

But on my priest I get destroyed unless the hunter is 8 levels lower.

To bad you don't gain the players abilities when Mind Controlling.

It's only melee attack and move

Gamon's a NPC. You could say the Deathknight Understudies get special abilities as well ;-)

    (And uhh, Saurfang *evil grin*)

oh i know. i've just been spending a lot of time in org lately :P you can use most NPC abilities, which is why when i played my warrior in BC I would try to bring along spriests for most heroics cause a good one can essentially CC 2 mobs (MC + offtank) which was essential as a warrior in something like H Sethekk or H Mgt

I know, but someone I was replying to said that if we had one ability from whatever class we were MCing, then our CC would be complete. I was making a joke

    As a priest, a rogue, and a DK - I resent this :P.

I feel these changes are going in the right place, but I don't see shadow being the wtfpwn spec it was in vanilla wow. Here's hoping they continue to nerf melee burst for casters everywhere!

Re: We just got DoT protection

Give melee attacks a cast time and the ability to be interrupted, see how they like it :P

Tears of the hunters.. why do they taste so sweet? It's almost like tears of the warlocks.

Re: We just got DoT protection

The fact of the matter is Shadow Priests were in dire need of some kind of CC to help mitigate any melee/hunter DPS. We had fear on a long cool down which is normally instantly trinketed because we are an easy kill with nothing to do for the next 26+ seconds that fear is on cool down.

At present any hunter with any intelligence and skill is going to run away from a priest and kite so that he will not get feared. This new ability gives the priest a short moment of reprieve to do something other than die, or drop shadow and heal. We get to *gasp* play as a shadow priest and continue to attempt to do damage instead of just healing ourselves and hoping our team mate(s) can pick up our slack.
