    Ink of the Sea [537]

As you can see, I'll be crafting for the next.. hour. D:

So I was just wondering, does anyone else have horror stories about some disgusting quantity of items they've had to Prospect/Mill/Smelt/Craft? Anything back when crafting times were even longer than they are now? Let's hear them!

Try prospecting 4000 saronite ore, then crafting all the uncommon red yellow blue orange gems into rings and necklaces and all the uncommon green purple ones into uncommon gems, then crafting all the rare gems into cut sellable gems of a certain quantity, then disenchant all the rings and necklaces. then do that every day for 2 weeks...

kinda makes crafting lots of ink of the sea seem pretty trivial.

i remember selling 100 stacks of infinite dust (2000 dust) to a guy and then he put them on the AH as singles every single one of them, i was like ... wtf and then undercut him with a couple stacks put on as singles by 1c each :P

How about void shattering in huge amounts before the "Enchant all" button was added for it. You had to sit there and every 30 seconds hit the enchant button. A stack took 10 minutes of sitting and watching. Although I was able to get huge tips off large orders like that because of how annoying it was to do it.

That doesn't take actual effort with Auctioneer though, you can set 2000x1 and go afk.
Pre-TBC I had gathering professions so don't have any horror stories back then, in TBC disenchanting 300-1000 greens in a day or making 1000 bandages from cloth that people sold <3g/stack was pretty tedious.
Nothing compared to these days though, I have JC and Inscription

And where the hell did you get 4000 saronite ore? Even IF you got 200 an hour (doable, but rough, esp if others are mining as well) you would have to mine for 20 hours a day.

me and a few friends knew alot of farmers and we gave them 35g / stack and they CoD it all to our bank alts and we used to get atleast 200 stacks per day. 4000 ore was an underestimate now i think about it, it was closer to 6000-8000

lmfao sumatran i just reread what you put, who the hell farms saronite ore? we pay people to farm it for us.

I farm Saronite Ore, pretty much daily. After about 40-50 stacks, I call it a day and prospect them all, craft rings, disenchant, blah blah blah. I don't have the corporation you seem to be running, but damned if I don't make money. ;D

Re: Ink of the Sea [537]

I used to farm ore. While that does give you a higher profit margin-per-ore, it doesn't make nearly as much money as just buying ore in bulk from others (assuming the same amount of time invested).

My friend, who had this radical plan to.....sell snowballs in the summer, having his account go down(and his char got lost), and then getting in the mailbox right before the delete.... all 40 stacks of his snowballs. This is not a smelt/mill/prospect horror, but can you imagine the AH-ing trouble I have with these...., lol.

probably when I got the honor of disenchanting all the greens a friend had collected between 60-70, lets just say I spent quite some time disenchanting it.
