Retarded, in 3.1 or something they buff the DMG for no reason (if i remember correctly), then make it so it doesnt go through absorption effects.. now we have another plain old casting direct damage spell. Boring.

not everyone has english as native language and they can at least speak more then 1 language witch cant be said about most englishmen that only can speak english.

I'll go with dumb. Like the previous poster said, it ignored abilities that reduced damage by a % (Possibly static reductions as well, like Icebound Fortitude). Just a glitch that would be completely OP if it was not fixed.

Being a non-native english speaker does not mean you have to use "abbreviations" such as 'sum' for some, 'ppl' for people, '1' for one, and (my favorite) 'smt'/'smth' for something.

I would expect a non-native english speaker's english to be about how my <insert language here> is, it would contain incorrect verb usage, sentence structure and etc.

Don't use not being a native english speaker as an excuse for laziness.

Chaos Bolt still hits like a truck and is fast casting. Because it now correctly does not bypass damage reduction spells makes it no less interesting, personally. I'll still take it on my warlock.

Some of us have been alive long enough to watch the depressing language-simplification trend since the advent of the internet/texting. Although -you- may not discuss concepts that require the full power of the language, many of us do. Every time you rail against the so-called "grammar nazi's" [sic], you are declaring to anyone unlucky enough to stumble on your post, "I have nothing interesting to say! I am merely posting to waste your time!"

I hardly think it's unreasonable to expect people to put some minor amount of energy into communicating clearly, given that it's the entire point of a forum. This is not your guild chat.

Getting back to topic...

Chaos Bolt is worth the talent point, generally. The problem lies in how bland the spell has become.

PvE: CB unhasted, talented cast time is 2.0 sec, vs. incinerate's 2.25. IE, it casts 12.5% faster. CB's coefficient is identical to incinerate's, and is affected by all the same talents. So CB's benefit is that it has a higher base damage: around 1621 vs. incin's (on immo) 786. So, you gain an extra 835 base per cast. This is somewhat offset by incinerate's glyph being far superior, but it still does hit harder.

In my experience, CB averages out to around 10% harder than incinerate. Thus, CB has a 1.1 * 1.125 = 1.2375x higher DPCT than incinerate. This makes it worth casting, but lackluster.

PvP: CB has the same PvE benefits (fast, hard-hitting, cheap) in PvP, while also piercing a couple notable effects.
Short list is ice barrier, PW:S, AMS, and CloS.
However, the benefit for these is not as great as it could be.
For PW:S/ice barrier, CB must kill the target for the piercing to mean anything. Because we can not follow CB with another CB, the shield has to be broken at some point. Thus, it absorbs fully. This is an interesting use, and not to be overlooked, but weaker than it initially seems.
AMS/CloS are the abilities CB shines against. CB allows us to dps during a period where we could not otherwise damage the rogue/DK. This is a pure damage boost.

In short, PvP, CB is situationally useful.

The problem, as I first stated, is that these are fairly bland uses for an entirely new spell. Most classes have a set of borderline-useless abilities (sentry totem, I'm looking at you), but Destro's list is probably among the longest. Hellfire, shadowflame, shadowburn, inferno, searing pain.. Each has at best one very situational use, and getting another spell added to the list is frustrating.

no offense, english is not my native language, but ive read tons of applications to my guild from people that can barely speak it and it looks like they are from some mental institution...

if you cant speak the language dont expect to be treated well, from anyone, ever.. i can give you an example.. our country has a 'king', a guy whose ancestors were rulers during the monarchy period, they escaped from the country later, (that was ages ago), he was born somewhere in foreign lands, he can barely speak our language... do you think anyone cares about him? (even if he has some rights to the 'throne')... nobody gives a fuck, everyone mocks him for being such a retard, barely knowing a few words..

well maybe a weird example, but im sick of those 'im smart but my english sucks' people.. its like the easiest language plus its everywhere.. internet, movies, whatever
