I'm rolling a Priest as an alt and I'm a big PvP fan so I was wondering what classes Shadow Priests and Disc Priests are good against.
I'm guessing they're easy kills for the melee classes.

Shadow Priests are not exactly a strong class PvP-wise, sadly.
Discipline, on the other hand, holds some potential. You might want to watch out for MS melee classes though.
My mostly-blue geared Warrior brings Discipline Priests to their knees after a while - so watch out for those that are full epic
Same thing goes for Rogues.
Planning is for amateurs.
Disc Priests are borderline overpowered in PvP.
A good disc preist will survive for 15 mins against a mellee 1v1 before going oom. And for mellee classes that cant heal themselves, they will die easily in that time due to dots.
Plus if you can find a decent mage and rogue, you have a free ticket to 2000 rating in 3's.
Gotta say i disagree, discipline priests are owning pretty hard in pvp atm.Originally Posted by crikk23

It's less on what their flaws are and more on how good you are with one. Usually Blizzard doesn't horrendously fuck priests up in both PvE and PvP, so to say when they are flawed would be indeed false. I tell you I suck at pvp, but I pvped with a shadow priest and he topped the whole battleground. Disc might be the way to go though, for they are more mobile, if you will, when it comes to casting.
Ye, well, alot of people that reply in these forums (including the people above us who say disc preists are rubbish) just have zero clue about who owns and who doesnt.Originally Posted by Alynnea
Disc is owning PvP pretty had atm.

Disc Preists are overpoewred atm, and only noobs would try and argue otherwise.
agree. I'm sorry to say (at least form my experience) Shadow priest don't beat crap disc is soo mush better and does really well in pvp my 2's partner can wear down and kill a rogue also rapes other castersOriginally Posted by Alynnea
As a spriest you will have an uphill battle the whole way. Some people have managed to do well with them but imo they are being carried by their skill and partners. ie: I can think of a spriest/rogue team that is in the top ratings but you could put out nearly as much pressure as disc with more survivability. When I get a spriest partner in skirmishes I cry.
As for disc this is the spec most play and they tend to whine constantly about innervate being completely undispellable and giving 20k mana every minute or something like that (lol I've seen a glad priest say innervate gave back a full mana bar in 8 seconds before the patch, fyi: innervate was 6k mana over 20s in full furious back then.) So prepare to be 2400 rated and complaining because you see druids drinking often because they play with highly defensive classes that allow them to drink (dk/war) and anyone that plays with a pve geared rogue almost never gets to drink.
I'm not saying all priests are bad but I've seen a lot of whining about resto druids when priests are top healers in every bracket. Most people consider comps that beat them 50% of the time are OP.

a lot of those rogue priest teams havnt played since the 1st week before they put blind and fear on DR.Originally Posted by dsswoosh
priest are really only OP in 3s with RMP because the rogue and mage put out so much pressure/cc that theyre able to play offensively. priests have the best offensive ability WHEN AND ONLY WHEN their teammates can keep pressure off them.
priests are definitely the most susceptible (well probably tied with shamen) to getting lol cleaved. warriors in particular roll priests.
priests take a pretty high level of skill to play at the top level.
now druids on the other hand, are kinda OP. lol 2 mana bars.
all right Im gonna be like one of those cool ppl who uses numbers to prove which class/spec is OP and which isnt
CURRENT TOP 2v2 team Rating 2882
Lowest team on top 100 2678
Teams with Druids in top 100 Total number: 40
35 Resto
2 Boomkin
3 feral
Teams with a priest in top 100 Total number: 36
34 disc
2 holy
so if we're gonna determine which spec is OP according to numbers well looks like resto druids Outnumber DISC priests by one so they're Obviously more OP
THis is an example to show how useless using numbers is in this game since they can be twisted into what anyone wants
also only 6 teams with a mage in top 100 OMFG THEY"RE SO NERFED JESUS MORE BUFFS TO THEM PLZ
THERE ARE 7 WARLOCKS IN TOP 100 SO THAT MEANS MAGES ARE NAO THE MOST NERFED CLASS HOLY SHITZICKLE
um their not op lol. I'd love for you to go post your charecter hence u love calling out ppl noobs. RMP is so high because that is the one set-up that has remained constant throughout all seasons, which is a good thing cuz mages do need one of those =D RMP is so high cuz there are SOOOOOO many variations of teams in 3s its not even funny. There are so many cleave set ups that its impossible for there to be one specific high one.Originally Posted by dsswoosh
A lot of priests in 2s are high, yes, but a lot of them are sitting in their high ratings from the 1 week of being op.
Not saying priests are bad or need buffs lol, but thinking that priests are op just because RMP is one good set up and judging only priests who play Priest/Rogue is sad. Not everyone plays RMP or PR.
Dont know why im even posting in these forums cuz its pointless but yea rofl.
Really? They have no way of surviving burst after 6 seconds, no way of getting out of melee and 3 seconds of CC every 2 minutes. They do well in teams if both players are very skilled, but the other player will always have to carry the Shadowpriest.Originally Posted by ITQcaleb

My personal experience about Disc Priests is this:
Starting out fresh in PVP with little to no resilience gear sucks. Once you start getting the gear, however, it is amazing. My gear isn't even that great and I can beat quite a few classes/specs 1v1 (though a lot of that depends on the person behind the keyboard more than what they are playing :P). You just have to learn how to kite the DPS and keep yourself alive through hella melee. Discipline Priests are great for PVP and really are a lot of fun.

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Careful - a well played shadow priest can match almost any other class/spec in 1v1, but you're right, when it comes to arena - you are largely carried by your team mate.Originally Posted by Abandon
Shadowpriests beat Warriors, if you're very lucky and have enough hp/resi it's possible you could beat a rogue, you can never beat a pro rogue 1v1.
Shamans are also easy, hunters.. and uhm, all casters besides frost mages, atleast that's what i can beat outside of arena, in arena you just get raped :P.
About disc, they can mostly beat any dps that can't heal.
