Double armor pen trinkets on a dps warrior worth it? (guild drama)

It shows him wearing both, my feral druid buddy and I put out a mutiny in the guild saying that its bullshit that they think him having both trinkets is even fair, and ontop of that would be better served with him than giving the two top dps (yes my rogue and his feral druid out dps this warrior and we both have no grim toll or mjolnir runestone) without the armor pen trinkets, the trinket. I'm not sure how much it would have increased my dps but I'm sure it would be a lot more noticable than him trying to proc both trinkets over time.

I posted this here so I can get the opinion on other dps warriors on if they think thats as stupid as I do or if I'm just being a cry baby, as I think thats some logical mistake on the warriors part, as the guy doign the loot was a tank and apparently didnt know about armor pen, and didnt know the warrior had a grim toll cause he linked his greatness card to be the replaced trinket. I think I've made this as clear as I can and hope I didnt confuse anyone. If the warrior had had no grim toll and got the trinket I wouldnt have minded because yes he is a raider and I'm an initiate but I dont think rank/loot council should apply when it visually is the same trinket as grim toll is and doesnt make sense when comes to sustained dps.

Armor pen now tops out at 100% so having double trinkets is pretty useless. The ignorance is on the warrior's part for not knowing his own class's mechanics. Armor pen is the #1 stat for warriors, but he should know that with the new cap, having double armor pen trinkets is pointless. I would blame the warrior who wanted it just as much as the officers who didn't understand either.

Either way, its a loot council guild, so it in itself is just ASKING for drama to occur at some point or another.

I would think they share cooldown but even if they didnt you would think having permanent 50% armor pen is greater sustained raid DPS than hoping both of those proc to give you 100%, maybe if you had 50% already gemmed and used both in some way of reasoning that when one isnt procing the other is so you have 100% more than you dont.. sure but doubt that

Besides that, the other question is, do you think its better to give a warrior two armor pen trinkets, or leave him with one and give another dps class, that doesnt even have one armor pen trinket, the trinket?

Taking a Mjolnir when you're running Greatness/Grim Toll when both a feral and a rogue need it shows that you're not in it for the group.

Taking a Mjolnir over a Greatness when you're already running a Grim Toll shows that you don't know shit about your class.

I see it the other way. You don't give new guild members (note hes not even a *member* till day 14th) loot over older members. Simply because they may not be there the next week. If you give it to the new person and he quits or never raids again.. it's hurting the raid group. Where as giving it to someone who has never missed a raid will always improve the raid group.

We've had this happen many times in our guild, people get some gear and never show up ever again. He clearly stated he was still in the guilds trial period which means he knows hes only going to get loot that no one else wants. That warrior wanted the trinket therefore it goes to him no questions asked.

Are you going to give pieces of legendary mace to the person whos been in guild for 13 days or the guy whos been raiding with the guild for years?

I dont think comparing an epic trinket to a legendary mace that requires many pieces is in the same league. I also dont think you understand the concept going on with the double armor pen trinkets and how unrelated it is to raider/initiate. I do find your statement valid but irrelevant to this situation at hand. I also have about 85-90% attendance.

I would have to respond to that with a question, Craz. Do you really want a guy who shows up every night but doesn't understand how his class functions in a DPS role?

I mean, he clearly doesn't know how to best gear himself for DPS, but knew he would get it over the two other players who would have benefited from it greatly because he had guild seniority. That's not the kind of guy I would want to raid with, don't know about you.

Yea that's a great idea to do in a guild you just joined to piss off all the people you raid with. Go for it. How about instead of acting like a child, you talk to the people involved (the officers in charge of making that decision and the warrior in question) and voice your concern in a calm, mature way. Then, if they act like assholes, you come out of it squeaky clean.

I did voice my opinion, the guildleader aka reciever of the loot has remained silent, thus telling me he doesnt think anythings wrong with it. A lot of people in the guild who arent dps don't understand the concept of armor pen and the two trinkets, so its hard to explain to them and its time consuming.

The person who handed out the loot did not understand the concept at first but when we both pointed it out to him, he agreed that he did not know and if he had know he would not have allowed that to happen and it will not happen in the future, that it was his mistake and he is sorry. That is fine except the person who knew what was going on and got the loot was the guildmaster which I think reflects upon the guild itself to elect someone like that to the guildmaster position.

I figured making this post and showing it to the guild would show that I am not alone in my thought process, especially when it is other warriors posting that it was a wrong decision to want to use both, especially over other dps that dont even have one.

On top of that, the certain people who are ignorant about it and claim I'm just bitching cause I didnt get my BiS trinket, will realize they were, well dumb.

First off your recruits. When it comes to gear recruits always get the shaft. That is the basic rule of any loot system. Recruits get loot when it is about to get sharded. So if it is a slight upgrade in the least to a regular member the recruit should not get butt hurt.

If I was the guild leader I would boot you out for this. Raiding is a team effort and there is rules on the team. If you don't like the rules find another team to play with. Don't be trying to throw mud around just because you don't get your way. Besides in about 3 months there will probably be a new BiS item for rogues.

Well I have greatness and grim toll and if MJ drops for me im going for it and im droppin the grim toll. Mj is the best trinket in game right now next to greatness so if you have both you are set for trinkets.

Its a 10 man its an upgrade he goes for it. Yall know you are initiates, if you were all raiders you might have a better case but you joined the guild knowing how it operates.

Tell you warrior to drop the grim get the greatness and gem arp or just be huffy and go look for another guild instead of just running it next week.

I would have takin the trinket from you as well. The GM doesnt know you and doesnt deserve to give you shit yet until you get thru the recruitment process. Why give loot to someone who might be getting kicked in a few days? Stop crying and pro up.

The fact that this happened and yo bring it to MMO champ is not a good sign and looks like YOU are the drama starter. If I was your GM and read this thread, I would kick you on the spot. Why have someone in the guild whos already complaining?

Well I'm done posting here, some people missed the point and thought I was crying cause I didnt get loot, I was crying for justice, if someone else got the trinket that needed it more then fine, but to take a trinket to have two to use at once I thought was selfish and uneducated. That has nothing to do with whether I'm an initiate or raider, no matter what rank I am if I saw that happen I would still protest and question the knowledge and motives of the people involved making the decision.

I have no problem with the priority/seniority ranking but I assume the seniority to have maturity and knowledge.

yea a guild in rebuild mode with 7 raiders, who wouldn't be raiding without the initiates. It just showed that the guild leader was a loot whore thats it.

I agree, but the way the warrior is using it is a downgrade. If he was running Mjol/Greatness, I would imply thats BiS so there should be no bitching from the recruits, but from the explanation, the warrior is running Mjol/Grim, which is pretty pointless due to the procs easily bringing you much much over the current cap of 100%.

Mjol/greatness > Grim/Greatness > Mjol/grim
