    4 Kings amber
    2 Ametrine
    2 Dreadstone

Total amount of Epic gems. 19
Percentage of prospects to epic gem. 27.14%

(I did not keep track of the Blue gems for this one and they got mixed up with ones I already had in my bag.

    Test two.

    17 stacks of Titanium Ore
    1 Half stack
    Total amount. 70 prospects.

    Results.

    38 Titanium Power
    3 Majestic Zircom
    3 Cardinal Ruby
    4 Eye of Zul
    5 Kings amber
    4 Ametrine

    3 Forest Emerald
    1 Autumn's glow

Total Amount of Blue gems. 23
Percentage of prospects to a blue gem. 32.85%

    Test 3

    17 stacks of Titanium Ore
    1 Half stack
    Total amount. 70 prospects.

    Results.

    42 Titanium Power
    4 Majestic Zircom
    2 Cardinal Ruby
    4 Eye of Zul
    6 Kings amber
    4 Ametrine
    2 Dreadstone

Total amount of Epic gems. 22
Percentage of prospects to epic gem. 31.42%

    (Blue gems)
    4 Scarlet Ruby
    2 Monarch Topaz
    6 Twilight Opal
    5 Forest Emerald
    5 Sky Sapphire
    1 Autumn's glow

Total Amount of Blue gems. 23
Percentage of prospects to a blue gem. 32.85%

I have noticed that it is indeed possible to get 2 epic gems out of one prospect. it is also possible that you can get either 0, 1 or 2 Titanium powder per prospect.

I am planing on doing a larger scale test towards the end of the PTR when I have stocked up more on Titanium ore so keep track.

    ------------------------EDIT---------------------

I have just done some Icy Prism testing, the cooldown is still up on the Ptr however I transfered my mage over 3 times so I have 3 results so far.

    First test.
    1X Sky Sapphire
    1X Autumn's Glow

    Second Test
    1X Twillight Opal
    1X Monarch Topaz

    Third Test
    1X Sky Sapphire
    1X Scarlet Ruby
    1X Monarch Topaz

As of yet, no epic gems from it, we shall see again tomorrow.

    -------------------------EDIT 2-----------------------------

    First Test
    1X Autumn's Glow
    1X Monarch Topaz

    Second Test
    1X Sky Sapphire
    1X Autumn's Glow

    Third Test
    2X Autumn's Glow

I will be doing one more day of Icy Prisms and more Titanium tomorrow.

at the moment, very hard, I am averaging a stack every hour or so, on the AH (Wildhammer-EU) it costs around 180G a stack.

    Re: Titanium prospecting test.

Sometime this coming week I will be sending over some orbs to make some prisms if the cooldown isn't on it to see what the gems are like from that. if anyone is on the PTR and has a ton of orbs they don'tmind losing (I will give you the gems that come out) send them to Kandan on Brill.

That's the same as the OP, right around 30% chance of getting an epic gem.

Hopefully it won't be nerfed. Epic gem market won't stay high for long like that.

Around 30% sounds about right to me. I doubt many people have 1680 Titanium Ore laying around.

    nice test....

the numbers seem high thats true, but how easy it will be to get a stack of titanium in first few weeks after patch when everyone starts to farm

but the main problem that piss me off...is shit load of 60lvl DKs that farm in WG. i mean, you dont even need lvl65 to get max in mining, and there are routes in WG where you dont even meet any mobs. also DKs are faster miners then even pally and his aura. they can walk on water, with some skill they get similar speed buff (Pale Horse) and they have ghoul who can agro anything that attacks DK, so he can easily finish the mining and then just run away.

i mean, lvl 60 easily farming in 75+ area, try to go farm thorium with your 40lvl char in EPL. thats about same lvl difference

WG is no place for under 75lvl and Blizz should limit it to 75lvl+....atleast when you kill those lower lvl farmers you would get some honor

I got you beat. I've seen a lvl 1 farm chests in azshara every 30 mins at the furbolg camps. Since they were yellow to him he could loot them.

Where do you farm the large amounts of titanium? The best I can do in sholazar is like 1 stack per 2-3 hour.
    (Avatar was too big, sorry!)

This bro told a cool story on 2009-12-03 and proudly took part in the banfest.

Sellin Titanium is so nice atm...

10-12g per ore on my server, easily selling 60-100 Ore a day. Then waiting 4 weeks until the prices on epic gems drop and new gear is available to socket and then buying the gems I need from the AH. A lot better profit than stacking ore and waiting to prospect it to sell epic gems. (With the amount of ore I already sold since patchday, there should be a load of gems available)

Remember than epic gems will also be availible from the emblem vendor for 15 emblems each. Those that "need" the quality of epic gems probably have a high quantity of emblems already, which means they won't have to buy that many gems. In addition, doing 5 man heroics all of a sudden has a meaning in 3.2 (you get the new emblem type by doing the daily heroic), so if you don't have the required amount of emblems upon launch of the patch, you sure will have after a few days (maybe even one day) of doing heroics. This will push down the price of the epic gems.

Re: Titanium prospecting test. (and some Icy Prism testing)

Today i tested prospecting titanium ore with some larger numbers.

I prospected 420 stacks of titanium ore.

    Results were:

    1218 x powder

    87 x Cardinal Ruby
    88 x Eye of Zul
    66 x Dreadstone
    76 x Ametrine
    72 x Majestic Zircon
    80 x Kings Amber

Thats 469 epic gems of 420 stacks ore = 1,117 epic gem per stack.
    And 2,9 powders per stack.

I didn't count the blues and greens ^^
