2.
2.3 with Talents.
Currently 2.3 with talents Ronark.
Edit: Even with talents, Paladins get 2 AP per STR. But with talents, you gain more STR per STR, so more AP per STR.
Think it's 2.2Originally Posted by Deralte

2*1.15= 2.3
Add in Kings, and you get 2.53 AP per STR
Bottom line, Strength > all stats (after hit and expertise capped), and should be saught after in all gear, UNLESS the choice is between a very poorly itemized strength piece and a very well itemized AP piece. The trick is, Blizz doesn't put AP on plate, so the only times this will happen is with rings, neck and back. You should still be looking for the best Strength pieces for these slots however.
Weapons and Enchants also.Originally Posted by Handsylton
Haha yes, with weapons and enchants too, AS WELL AS gemming. If you can reach the hit cap through gear, then all those +16 strength gems = yummy. Also, BiS trinket is Darkmoon Card: Greatness for a reason.Originally Posted by Ronark
I actually wasn't aware that there were any Strength enchants, and most were just AP based?
Strictly speaking, no.
But you can get +stats which obviously include str.
In WotLK, yes it is true. But every value of AP can be assumed to to be worth a certain amount of strength.Originally Posted by Handsylton
Just take the amount of AP an enchant awards and divide it by 2.53.
This is true, but in theory, this AP isn't multiplied by the 2.53 modifier from Divine Strength and BoK. It's completel seperate from the equation, similar to how BoM is not modified by BoK or DS. But yes, I understand what you're saying.Originally Posted by Offhand

The basic point is that the value of AP compared to Strength is so far behind that there is absolutely no point ever in looking for AP. I would disagree with anyone who puts an AP neck/rings/back on a BiS list unless the itemization of other stats is PERFECT, because that would be the only reason to take an AP over a Strength piece.
And obviously, with enchants, they don't have straight +STR enchants, so AP is the next best thing there.
Depends on what you use as well. The old +15 STR enchant is better than the current +35 AP one.Originally Posted by Offhand

if you go by your character sheet it will always be 2 AP per str. since the adjustments of STR by talents and buffs are already done in the char sheet.
Yes but then you have toOriginally Posted by Lumidar
A.) Divide your total AP by your total Strength to find out that Total AP/Total Strength ~~ 2.53, and this number wont even be accurate
B.) Decide which piece of gear is better by blindly guessing the value of AP vs. Strength, where STR will always be 2.53x better than AP.
that doesnt work cus you get AP from other sources as well.Originally Posted by Ronark
Hence the "and this number wont even be accurate" partOriginally Posted by Lumidar
