    Gem for Hit.

    Re: Gem help (Elemental Shaman"

First of all get rid of that 27 haste gem, gemming for haste isn't an awesome way to increase your DPS.
Get to 10% hit if you've got a boomkin or shadow priest in the raid then just stack spellpower

wowarmory is on blacklist at work, so i can't check your gemming.

Just a general statement: Gem/enchant for hit until you reach cap (263 for alliance), then gem/enchant for spellpower. If you are a jc, use your prismatics only for +sp and try to reach the +sp socket bonuses through this.

Some of the Ulduar boss fights are very frustrating. If you want to generally see how your dps is, go patchwerk. If you reach more then 5k on patchwerk, you're doing a good job, even in Ulduar where you cant't do much damage on some bosses.

    Hey. A few things.

    Stats
First off you are 1% under the hit cap (if you are with a SP or Boomkin)
You do have low haste, try and grab T7.5 as it has very nice amounts of haste on it and hit aswell.

    Gems
You have a couple of haste gems which is pointless. You get enough haste from Tier gear and offset and spell power scales so much better.

    Gear
You are losing damage with the MP5 gear you are using. Try and replace them for SP-Crit-Haste items and your damage will go up a lot.

    Todo list.
Get yourself over the hit cap without JC gems - get http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40696
I know its lower item level, but with 2 hit gems in it you will have a lot of hit, then you can regem spell power in the rest of your gear.

Change the shoulder enchant to the DPS one

Change the following items - Head, Neck, Wrists (you get bad assed ones from naxx25 Instructor), Gloves (Tier 7-.5 gloves suck balls), Main hand.

Get Dying Curse for the hit. - replace Sundial of the exiled

Gem every gem possible to spell power (IGNORE SOCKET BONUS'S)

If you really wanna max your dps - drop mining and get enchanting.

    Result
In full naxx25 gear with JC you are looking for roughly these numbers.
    2k completly unbuffed spell power.
    600 haste
    26-28% crit
    10% hit

DPS - on a fight like patchwerk with no flasks, just fully raid buffed, u should be pulling 4.5-5k DPS (in T7.5)
With some ulduar pieces and flasks you are looking at 5-5.5k

If you need anymore help just ask.

    Good points made by clampy.

Just to add some other stuff that are important for your dps:
What you also should do is change the Glyph of Lava for Glyph of Lightning Bolt since LB should be your main nuke. Bigger numbers are nice, but doesn't increase your dps over Glyph of Lightning Bolt.

Don't know if it's needed, but reviewing your spell rotation might also be a dps increaser.
You should work out a rotation that uses Lava Burst as tight on every cooldown as possible.
    FS => LvB => LB/CL-fillers => LvB => LB/CL-fillers => repeat

On bosses where you can't stick to your fixed rotation, make sure FS is up and use LvB on every cd and fill the gaps with LB and/or CL whatever suits you best.

Clampy covered most of it, but I've got a bit of a forward-looking note you may want to consider.

Once 3.2 hits, and your JC gems are no longer prismatic, you're going to need to worry about reaching the requirement for your meta gem. 2 blue gems are annoying to use, but a necessary evil.

What you're going to look for to do this is gear with 1 blue socket, and a good socket bonus, and preferably either no other sockets or red sockets. Perfect examples of this are http://www.wowhead.com/?item=46210 and http://www.wowhead.com/?item=45557, going from a 19 sp gem to a 9sp/12stam gem means you lose 10 sp of course, but the socket bonuses reduce this penalty to just 3. Do NOT use your belt buckle for one of your blue gems, there's no bonus for doing it and you're hurting yourself. Efficiency is the name of the game.

I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

So....what's our haste # to shoot for these days? I took several months off and am wondering.

    Here's my profile:

Other than swapping out MP5 gear for more Crit-DMG, how's that looking?

About 550 lets you get another LB between LvB
