    3.2=kite?

So uhm, the nerf to icebound fortitude (QQ) means I will have to start kiting vezax instead of just tanking through. I'm still considering to time vamp blood and ibf ever surge but yeah, vamp blood isnt as good I reckon. Anyway, anyone with experience this? Kiting that is, is it only waht it says, kiting? any special way to run etc. throw them tips at me !

    Re: 3.2=kite?

So uhm, how about actually using something else, like a paladin, to tank instead? And use healer cooldowns damnit, if you can go through the entire fight with only icebound fortitude, I can see that it needs a nerf.

If you want to kite, have a disc priest that casts his shield on you. 60% increased run speed or so for a few seconds.

Err, why would you need to? Sure, you can't just IBF through every surge, but... that's what your raid has pain supression, guardian spirit and other cooldowns for.

Cooldown rotation is the name of the game with these sorts of hits. If you can do a cooldown every other Surge, then you need two "healer cooldowns" (on a 3m CD) to last indefinitely. With 3 of the 5 healing specs having such a cooldown, it shouldn't be hard to find that among your healers in a 25-man.

If you lack the healing cooldowns, Vezax is immune to taunt, but you could still also try a tank swap (to take advantage of the OT's cooldowns) if you really wanted to. Having a Paladin put Hand of Protection on the MT should work, or you could do it the hard way (have high-threat DPSers hold off while he lowers his TPS and you burst-TPS past him - Blessing of Salvation on the MT might help).

Vezax's movement speed slows tremendously while surged.

    Pretty hard.

When it comes to kiting Vezax warrior tanks intervening to get out of his range fast is the best but you being a dk that won't help much (unless it motivates your guild to use a warrior tank for that fight should you have one). As for kiting as a dk the holy priest shield speed boost is really good as mentioned above and an aspect of the pack with godly timing also works although if that fails you probably die due to the daze. As for kiting paths just tanking him where he starts at first with your back to the raid and then just running towards the entrance of the room and turning him around there to repeat on next kite works.. I seriously would not consider any sorts of tank swaps that involve any tank loosing threat because the caster dps on Vezax do far too high aggro for that with good puddles (but perhaps that is only a problem if you have casters that cannot aggro dump like elemental shamans and boomkins.

All of the aforementioned is unnecessary. I simply turn and walk as a Paladin. No Body & Soul, no Aspect of the Pack, no Speed Potions, no Intervene, nothing. Just strafe away.

Or... Just run while hes casting and get an early lead while he's slowed?

    Re: 3.2=kite?

Surely the most obviously and the simplest answer couldn't be the right one. NO! We must do shit the old-fashioned and hard way. Fuck this shit! I face tank a mother fucker.

    Re: 3.2=kite?

I've tanked without moving in both 25man and 10man as a warrior (2min CD on shield wall with a glyph + talent)

In 25man raids you most likely have a discipline or holy priest and a paladin.

    First: Shield Wall (0minutes)
    2nd: Pain Suppression / Guardian Spirit (1minutes)
    3rd: Shield Wall (2minutes)
    4th: Paladin Sacrifice + Last Stand (3minutes)
    5th: Shield Wall (4minutes)
    6th: Pain Suppression / Guardian Spirit (5minutes)
    7th: Shield Wall (6minutes)
    8th: Pain Suppression + Last Stand (7minutes)
    9th: Shield Wall (8minutes)
-- At this point he would enrage assuming that it takes around one minute for first surge cast.

And if you only have two cooldowns available (10man maybe) tank, tank, kite, tank, tank, kite etc.

    Re: 3.2=kite?

in 3.2 you're going to have enough gear that it won't matter.

kiting vezax 25 atm isn't really an option, unless your tank is doing 15k tps or something

Surely you must mean Pain Suppression?
