I'm sorry to say but there never was 40 man raids in Wow. It was always 25 mans with 15 people afk or cleaning potato chips out of their keyboards.
Having to get more people doesn't make an experience epic. Making a cool encounter that requires everyone in the group to perform is epic.
Yes. ;DOriginally Posted by voloric
Yes it was.
LOL
^ The above should be taken with two grains of salt and a fistful of "chill the F* out".
25 pros and 15 afk retards watching porn
thats what 40man raids are all about
25s FTW!

What if it's not going to be a new raid OR a battleground? Perhaps some form of completely new content that is delivered in an instanced form? Pure speculation, of course.
A.. quest zone of 40 maximum instanced players? Something I can't even think of? Work with me here.
"Putting a 40man raid together will cause guild leaders bang their head on a wall"
haha
I'm kind of against 40man raids, even though they feel epic. Too much space for individual error.
DEAR GOD HELP US
I'm guessing my guild werent the only ones thinking "Now why didnt they have the "Loot: <Insert name here>" In Molten Core times? ;DOriginally Posted by Unilin
Signature not acceptable (e.g. too large), read http://www.mmo-champion.com/general-discussions-22/important-signatures/ - Regards, Olison
if it's a 40man it's probably an outside encounter like Doomwalker and kazzak?
I would gladly go back to 40 man raids. 25 man raids just don't feel nearly as cool. It was a major mistake to leave them behind in the first place. You just can't compare the two... The feeling when your guild killed Ragnaros, Nefarian, C'Thun.... it's just not there with any of the TBC bosses or WoTLK bosses, doesn't feel like an achievement at all.
I just beg some developer out there to take the best bits from MMO's much like WoW did and give us a serious competitor. Tempt the 1% hardcore from WoW and you will eventually get the rest.
40 man raids sucked.
I only liked Ragnaros because he's fairly unrivaled in the epic size/entrance arena. And he had a cool voice I'd mute Vent to listen to.
The fight itself was just crap. Like Nefarian, only less to do.
If you remember even a shred of MC/naxx40, you would know that they were in fact VERY casual friendly. You literally brought 20 active players, and 20 slackers for MC, because 40 skilled players were impossible to put together, while 20 slackers were easy to grab, and could help raid enough to carry it through.Originally Posted by Taurentony
Just because it was a long time ago, and your memories of it are massively embellished, doesn't mean it was actually hard, or not casual-friendly.
Heck, the whole "old good days when game was hard" complaint has no grounds - we didn't have the social structure in top guilds we have now, we didn't have the helpful addons and we didn't have people who experienced pretty much any mechanic there can be.
Toss a new "pretbc naxx" difficulty level dungeon, and it will be cleared in a day or two by hardcore. That's just the way it is. The only reason it was harder back then because the top end game was far, FAR more casual in itself, allowing for more mistakes, actually carrying people and general slacking, to compensate for lack of skill and social structure that we currently have.
Look at modern yogg, or algalon. Yogg0 would be deemed "completely unkillable" back then, because even the old nihilum wouldn't have the manpower, experience and stamina to pull off an encounter this tight on everything.
Time has forged a number of excellent players in this game, and as a result encounters could get HARDER then ever before. As for the masses, it's not like anyone had any problems farming MC, the staple "omg hardcore 40 man" raid.
40 man raiding is not coming back
