Leveling in BG's

So I understand you wont get experience from Hk's but doing certain tasks. My question is does anyone know some of the task?

From what I can guess..

WSG
1) Cap the flag.
2) Return the flag.

Got to be some more...

Arathi Basin
1) Cap bases.
2) Defend bases.

Also there has to be something else...

Eye of the Storm
1) Cap bases.
2) Defend bases.
3) Cap flags.
4) Defend flags.

Alright we got some more happening here.. but still not alot.

Alterac Valley
1) Cap flags
2) Defend flags
3) Cap towers/bunkers
4) Defend towers/bunkers
5) Possibly kill generals/captains.
6) Cap mines.

Alrighty decent list but for a BG of this size its still not what I expected.



Thats what I'm thinking of when the patch hits with this new feature.

Please add your imput and ideas of what else blizzard might do to allow us to gain experience in BG's.

maybe u can get more XP if U cap a flag, tower, whatever, and a different amount if u stand near it
If u win/lose it could grant xp.

no mather how they implent it i got faith in it being viable, probably not like powerlevling with quests, but a fair ammount, maybe u will get passiv xp just staying in the bg? (would suck because of afk bot whores, but i'd still try it) or maybe it will come from dammage done / healing done or something. maybe it will be familier with how the rep works as this moment.

Also another idea I have. Maybe increase the size of WSG/AB by like 10-20% and add Herbs and Mines in there. So people that might just do BG's too lvl wont get behind on there professions. Sounds reasonable too me.

I don't think you will be awarded XP for winning games solely because it would pretty much defeat the lvling factor of the game and bring back way to many anti afk bots and BGs would just be filled with people afking and what not.

it is "slightly LESS" than what you'd receive by questing. They have already stated this.

I made a post not long ago about twinks leveling in bgs and I was met with the simple answer that you can turn off the experience gain. However aside from this another point arose. It was the realisation that if you were only to receive experience from, for example, capping the flag then you're going to find a lot of people fighting over it and we will see a general decline in the already abysmal level of teamwork in BGs.

I agree that it would be difficult to give everyone in the BG experience due to botters, however at the same time we must consider the implications of only giving the 'cappers' experience. It will be interesting to see what compromise they'll come to.

Also i don't think there will be much more I mean if you look at the BGs and the lvls are which you can get in they scale rather nicely. You start off getting only to do wsg where there is one way to gain xp ie cap flags. Next you can go to AB at 20 and up step up in your lvl and theres a step up in ways to get xp capping flags and defending flags. Then you move onto AV the pinnacle of XP where there is a multitude of ways to gain xp. I think the BGs scale well and should offer a relatively nice alternative to questing when one gets bored.

So if you are a Priest, for example, since you have no escape abilities or CC then you should never be able to capture the flag compared to, for example, druids or shamans, or other classes with snare/slow removal, speed increases. So some classes will just not be able to gain XP at all in battlegrounds, while some will have a huge advantage?

Sure and a Auction House.. trade channel.. a little arena inside some quests 2 capital cities and a small battlemaster to que for a small battle inside this BG....

I'm going to desparately try to level my shaman solely through BG's.

They did say it was going to be close to questing, but not on par with it, so hopefully i'll have yet another 80 to add on my shelf of alts I barely play.

think of it this way. if they get exp from capping flags and defending hopefully doing that for 70 levels will squeeze it through their thick skulls that thats exactly what the game is about!!!!.

i say give 1/2 xp for losing and full xp for winning. have a feeling that if you heal the fc or kill someone attacking the fc or deal any damage to the enemy fc you will get xp.

and honestly who cares about bots. free honor for you and they will drag the other team down. therefore increasing your chance of getting full xp for the battleground

Because there aren't other BGs like AB AV EOE or SotA where they would do perfectly fine right?
