    Auriaya's Sentry Blast

    What we then proceeded to spend the next half of the night wiping on is a really bad fear mechanic combined with her ridiculous Sentry Blast - it appears counterspell, paladin shield interrupt do not work. Kick for rogues does work. Mind freeze by DKs does also. Ideally a "tremor totem" will break the fears early, but with our group the stupid totem never seemed to do anything at all. We had one shaman and four priests (by luck only). We rotated fear wards, had our rogue Everyman, and then had the next rogue everyman. We got her down ot 50% and then the sentry blast took us out because we had no tricks left. Does anyone else have a better idea for that one? We have no warriors (I know, it's ridiculous), and only one DK has lichbourne to break the fears. We usually run two preists- three if we're lucky.

    I read this on WoWhead, is it true that counterspell won't work in the Sentry Blast?

    Counterspell definitely works. I had to racial out of the fear and counter it once. Silly shamans forgot their Tremor Totem.

    HoJ has an interrupt effect on it, doesn't it?

    It's far more important to have that interrupt go off than a healer be out prior to a tremor tick.

    If you don't have a reliable warrior to interrupt, have the priests chain ward the interrupter. In this case you'd let the four priests ward in succession [ward->fear->ward->fear>ward->fear>ward->fear->trinket/racial] Hopefully by that time Auriaya is either dead or the first priest's Ward is back up. If not then utilize the other interrupters you have access to.

    Yeah it's a gimmick, but part of surviving encounters is ingenuity.

    You could use a Rogue with Throwing Specialization using FoK just before the casting of the fear ends to interrupt the Blast.

    We usually just have a warrior tank it. When she fears he uses Berserker Rage and shield bashes. Works perfectly.
    If I was a Blizz server technician, I'd hijack a server and use it to download porn 24/7. Guess why the instance servers always are full B]

    It really works best with a warrior, but other than that you'd have to keep trying and make sure people get their interrupts off. Maybe switch out a trinket for the medallion.

    We have 4 humans on an interupt rotation. By the time fear 5 comes first guy is back up. (If you're horde go get 4 peoples 2 minute pvp trinket)

    Warrior Tank here and this works quite well. DBM gives a warning when she is getting ready to fear. /Cast Berserker Rage, wait a sec and /cast Shield Bash. Works every time.

    Combat rogues can Killing Spree right before the cast lands and they will not get feared. Likewise a Vanish timed right before the cast ends will prevent fear. If they both have everyman for himself this should give you plenty of options. Glyphed KS is a 1.5 minute cooldown so one Human Combat Rogue could do the interrupts as follows

    1 Killing Spree
    2 Vanish
    3 Killing Spree
    4 Everyman
    5 Killing Spree
    6 Vanish
    7 Killing Spree


    Since you have two human rogues you should ask them both to do this, because there is a chance that KS will leave them off target for a second if the feral defender is nearby. Breaking out of the fears increases up time on the boss and will improve dps.

    Ive never heard of anyone having problems with the sentry blast, yes tremor totem needs to pulse but even if you miss the interrupt its pretty minimal damage and it seems quite easy to recover from. But continue to lay the tremor.

    any decent warrior can handle that mechanice, whether ur prot using berserker rage then shield slam, or an arms warrior who switches into berserker stance to use pummel, or a fury warrior who is always in berserker stance can handle it....

    The paladin shield ability IS NOT AN INTERRUPT. It is a SILENCE. Paladins should use HoJ to interrupt.

    Shaman Earthshock is pure win: Instant, ranged, short CD, shamans = tremor :3. Never have had a problem with sentry blast (Knock on wood)

    I agree with this guy, being a mage on that fight, the actualy Damaging part of sentinal blast starts RIGHT after the fear ends, if your mages are quick enough, they can turn around and hit a counterspell before freya even hits anyone with it. Pretty easy, but unfortunately, people do fail at this.

    If I remember correctly, our mage used some sort of armor which reduced the duration of fear significantly and always counterspelled. But Warriors are by far the better choice, since they've got it easier ^^
