    Pvp hit cap??

    What is the hit cap for a class that can dual wield in pvp I.E Rogue? I was told 6% but I'm still seeing misses.

    Some classes have talents that increase your chance to miss when you swing. So it would depend if those people have those talents or not. You dont realy need more then 6% though.
    When people say "pls" just because its shorter then "please", I feel totally justified to say "No" just because its shorter then "Yes".

    melee =

    5% = lvl 80
    6% = lvl 81
    7% = lvl 82
    8% = lvl 83 (bosslvl)

    5% will give you sure fire yellow hits, you will still miss with white hits because of some 21% chance to miss while dual wielding

    And thats minimum required not cap , ppl tend to mix that stuff up , so yea if u want cap u should aim for 21% as dual wield , but that will be nonsense in pvp.

    So try asking this , whats the hit needed to perform good in pvp?

    Most of the ppl sticking up to 5% rule where your yellow attacks will surely not miss unless ppl has talents or gear for it, like u will need extra 5% for specced frost mages and i dont know how much for prot specced wars , so achieve that 5% and than focus on ap/crit imo.

    Yeah, DW requires a lot of hit to have the Auto attacks hit in PVE. It would still be higher for PvP too, but the main thing you do damage with are the special attacks which use a lower rating. Just stick with 5% as a base and play around with it till you find that comfort zone.


    So what % is the Spell Hit cap for PvP? I can never seem to find an answer on that...

    4% more against Paladins with 2 points in Divine Purpose, Rogues with 2 points in Heightened Senses
    2% more against Bloodelfs
    2% for Arcane vs. Gnomes, Shadow vs. Draenei/UD, Nature vs. Tauren/Nightelfs, Frost vs. Dwarves


    (That's all I remember for now, anyone knowing some more may add it.)

    hit cap is worthless tbh, unless u run double dps (even so, in double dps i wud stack ap/haste/crit/sp depending on class/race/setup)

    So a good safety net of 9-10% then?

    lol so misses a mortal strike isn't game breaking? missing a cyclone isn't gamebreaking? missing a kidneyshot,cheapshot,gouge,blind, etc... 5% hit cap should be the first thing you get.

    5% miss chance? if ur attacking from behind (which you should be aiming to do), that removes dodge/parry/block. So you have a .... 5% chance to miss with Mortal Strike from behind and a 95% chance to hit. In the event you can't get behind your dealing with say.... 10-25% dodge, 5-15% parry, 5-10% block. You really should be behind the target tho...

    5%.... really isnt that much. Most definitely isnt game breaking.. Definitelly not the first thing you should get. The first thing you should get is 850 resilience for 10% crit avoidance and reduced damage from dots/drains/crits. The next thing you should be getting is atleast 20k hp. atleast...

    Hit rating really is the last thing you should be concerning yourself with in pvp, if you have room for it, and have maxxed ur gear up, then get ur hit, thats when its gonna benefit you.


    And again... missing them game breaking? Nope... dont know what game ur playing. A bit of hit rating to counter the talents of your opponents is about as far as you should go, otherwise you are starting to penalise your other stats.

    if you can make it a good habit to get behind someone yeah that would be awesome but for me at least i don't pay attention to where i am in according to the player that i am attacking... i pay attention to what they and their partner(s) are doing and what cds and stuff are being blown.

    didn't say 5% hit was gamebreaking, i meant like you missing a special move could be game breaking. if you're a warrior and you're attacking some healer and you have a rogue on you(you're slowed) and you miss a hamstring then you have to blow charge/intercept to get back onto the target. if you're attacking a healer and he's at 15% and you miss a ms and he charges up a penance then that team could come back for a win.

    and yeah i agree actually idk what i was thinking, 5% hit shouldn't be first priority but it isn't at the bottom of the list. i would gem and enchant for hit rather then resil or ap for instance. it depends on your class i guess. if i was a paladin i wouldn't really worry that much about hit but i'm a rogue and hit is a big deal.

    If you're a rogue and you miss a blind/kidney shot etc... Then you just lost the game. AKA you lost because you didn't have the hit cap. Please do yourself a favor and get hit cap ASAP.
    5% chance to miss may not seem like a lot... but it's HUGE. Do you really want RNG determining if you win or lose lol

    I think he's talking about the dual wield hit cap which is 21%, which is worthless. 5-7% max is what you aim for in pvp no matter what class you play. How often really is recasting a cyclone or re-pushing MS button a gamebreaker? I'll tell you what's gamebreaking though, not having enough AP/SP/resilience to win you games because you're wasting stats on hit!

    How often is it gamebreaking if your Blind/Instant-Pyro/Hex misses? What? Everytime? O_O Who'da thought...

    Yeah, if a Rogue's Wound Poison misses it's really, absolutely no deal, but if something that decisive misses, then the match is over for you.

    Whaaaaaaat? You are an idiot if you don't have the hitcap on a Resto Shaman even, no point in argueing about a DPS class.... 1 missed Hex or even Shock can lose you the game.
