They write the Lore.. You cannot say it doesn't make sense to the person who makes it make sense..

    Also. Old topic is old.

    Sure we can.

OG lore seemed to been retconned, yet the original lore is still in the game.

    So wtf???

They have also been allied to races that have been using (and abusing) arcane and shadow magics along side them for a very long time now (about 15 years story line wise by cata?). It has probably become slowly more acceptable in their society to have casters around, although it is unlikely they trust them even still. I mean the first human they had diplomatic relations with, the one who helped them stave off the burning legion again, was of course Jaina, a noble arcane user who showed them a good, noble mage is possible.

Also the idea that the current elven adventurers are being changed simply by fighting along side the alliance is very possible. Every time a mage casts arcane brilliance on the party or buffs a night elf with Focus Magic. This arcane energy pouring through them, wouldn't that also change them physically?

I don't think they were ever allied to the alliance they were just kinda neutral to everyone and hid away in Dire Maul and similar places.

I really wonder how they're going to pull this off. The Highborne are physically different from regular Night Elves, being of paler complexion and slighter build, with more refined features overall. Perhaps the Highborne come back to tutor Night Elves?

Read posts above. Yes they come back to tutor the current night elves.

As I also pointed out it wouldn't be a stretch to say the current adventuring Night Elves are closer physically to Highborne now with all the arcane energies they have been exposed to (mages buffing allies, fighting around Malygos' nexus etc)

After the night elves banished the Highborne from the remains of their homeland, two factions were created. Those that followed Anasterian Sunstrider and those who did not.

The highborne who followed Sunstrider, would mass exodus on a boat west, and on their travels would become weak, fraile, and light skinned. They would make landfall on the northern shores of Lordearon, and walk during the day (Sunstrider). The newly pale skinned elves, would become known as Elves in early common by dwarves/gnomes/humans. The called themselves High Elves. They would later become known as Blood Elves due to their current leader Kael'thas, after Arthas destroyed a large portion of their homeland. Kael'thas has been killed, and their current leader Lor'themar Theron keeps their race known as the Blood Elves ikn remembrance to the struggle and rebirth his race has gone through.

Those whom did not follow Sunstrider, sought refuge in southetrn Kalimdor, in an area that shared a similar environment as there old home. This is now known as Feralas. They constructed a grand work of Night Elf Architecture, and became known as the Shen'dralar tribe. These are still Night Elves, the legitimate heir to the Highborne. They still practice their arcane magic. Theyare to return to Teldrassil and Darnassus to try to integrate themselves once more into Night Elf society.

It wouldn't be, if not for the fact Night Elves in-game are obscenely ripped. If they have indeed become more dainty, just imagine what they ORIGINALLY looked like. *shudder*

A little false here and there as Anasterian wasn't even born at the time and they sailed east. The highbourne that stayed behind did so probably because they where already secluded in Eldre'thalas. Otherwise correct.
