    problems at anub 10 normal

had a smooth ToC 10 (normal) guildrun tonight, 1-shotted beasts and jaraxxus, couple of wipes at champions and val'kyr, but we really couldnt get past anub. we failed at p2 because of scarabs, they were just hitting people away and applying their stacking DoT, so when anub resurfaced, both tanks had 10 stacks and most DPSers and healers had 5 to 8 stacks. Needless to say that our healers couldnt keep up with all that damage. after a few wipes we managed to live through first p2 but then wiped at second p2 mainly due to mana issues.

any suggestions on how to deal with scarabs? we tried hero at first p2 but didnt really help, the scarabs were just swarming all over the place. we tried kiting the scarabs, didnt work. we tried tanking the scarabs, both tanks died when anub came back up.

Feel free to PM me about any question you might have regarding LoL.

Tanks need to pick them up quicker and dps need to dps faster. That is all.

Just pick them up faster and nuke them down 1 by 1 and you are fine

When me and my guild went and did it 10man tonight we one shotted it. Very easy fight.

We too aggro several scarabs, but most remain neutral and we don't have the same problem of being swamped by them and are deat with fairly quickly. Are you throwing too many AoEs and aggroing too many of them by accident?

Kill the neutral ones before the fight begins.

The small adds also have very little health. We just had the range focus them down while the melee used what little ranged attacks they had to continue dropping Permafrost and burn the larger adds.

    The above is bad advice.

We have our tanks avoid these little buggers at all costs. The stacking debuff doesn't fall off for like 1 min, and a tank picking them up will be taking MASSIVE damage from both anub and these debuffs as they will stack very high, very fast.

Just keep enough permafrosts down, stay on them and range down the little ones as much as possible. Make sure to kill any that enrage 1st, as they attack much more quickly and stack the buff very fast.

Oh, also worth noting. We found out last night that mages/pallies/rogues can iceblock/bubble/cloak out of the stacking debuff. So if you're melee heavy, you can do what we did --> Have a rogue/mage/pally run around and pick up the agro on them while other burst them down. That way, that person can get 90%+ of the debuffs and simply remove them with the appropriate ability. Voila, you just trivialized the debuff. ;-)

The fight's really not that hard. We cleared it twice last night. Once with mains and then again with 10 alts, lol.

    Good hunting.

We tried two strats, one with only one tank and another with two tanks.

The one tank strat barely worked, as the tank got the debuffs and eventually died. Luckily we had someone to off-tank for a bit while the MT was brezzed.

The two tank strat works best. The OT picks up the adds while DPS switchs to the adds and kills them. They don't have that much health which is nice. And definitely keep as much permafrost down as possible.

Which debuff are you referring to that stacked to high to 1-tank the encounter?
