What size raid is more fun?

All things considered equal, if there were raids going which lasted the same amount of time and dropped the same quality of loot, which would you prefer to play in?

I clicked 10. I love the dps in 25 mans and the challenge is a little bit harder, but more chance of there being a fail in your raid. Cba with 40 mans anymore although getting a boss down with 40 felt like a bigger achievement!

I like 10 mans because, more friendly and chilled environment, and you are important.

But I voted for 25 Man's because there is much more Challange.

I've never riaded 40 man's, but I think its a little to chaotic.

10 mans are great because you can have everyone in the same vent channel without it being completely chaotic.

I prefer 10 man as it's easier to get people together, it runs smoother (lag/CPU power), there's less slack (if 1 person dies you feel it - even a DPS) and it requires equal player skill.

Never did 40-man, but I imagine is as hell just getting the people together.

25-man are more epic when it comes to the biggest boss battles, but in fights where not a single person can die it doesn't leave a lot of room for mistake.

Still, voted for 10-man as they're more easily organized, often more friendly as you're usually a tight group of people going, and overall more fun.

the option i would have chosen s not present......

i believe a 120 man raid is the most fun. done right everyone will know you were there.... they wouoldn't have seen you all load and their FPS might have turned into an FFS but you damn well would have noticed you there.

only problem is you'd be stuck casting the same spell over and over so choose wisely.

Re: What size raid is more fun?

Since the operative word of the question was "fun" I voted

10 man because of the atmosphere...
..in wotlk 25 mans there seems to be alot of whining and bitching on vent all the time..
    Prefered 25 mans in tbc

40 mans was epic but a nightmare in so many ways I wouldn't wanna go back to that..

Re: What size raid is more fun?

    Voted 10man.

Just beacause its just more fun doing stuff with 10 awesome people than a 25man with 15 awesome people and 10 "not-so-awesome" people.

And yeah, 10man has less room for error than 25man, allthough the overall difficulty might be lower than 25man.

Also, gotta love the chillout atmostphere in a 10man where each member can contribute into the conversation on Ventrilo, be it tactics or bad humour.

BUT if you did have 25 totally awesome people, I guess 25man would be better in terms of nerdscreams on a firstkill and more laughing when I play the He-Man tune on vent during a boss-attempt.

I loved 40 man raids but I think if they made one now it would just be
    a hugh lag fest.

10man easily because then you can bring 10x awesome. And as said above, ventrilo gets alot more interesting and friendly.

In a lot of ways im not entirely sure i agree with "10man has less room for error". Looking at tonights 10m farm for kicks and giggles taking for instance Freya +3, GeneralVezax, and Firefighter.

Firefighter: we had p1 down before even the first Flame Suppression, downing the boss with nearly 5 minutes left on enrage.
Freya+3: over zealous dps blew up all the detonating lashers in a clump as we were standing in the middle of them and still managed to live and down the boss (1 shot)
General: We had to stop dps because with 5% left and over a minute to the saronite animous comming out our dk interrupt was going to end up killing him. Our ranged actually had to intentionally heal him to prevent his early demise.
Thorim: we had thorim at less than half health by the time the "hard mode" timer had expired (the 3 minutes you are given to reach thorim with sif present)
Hodir: killed with over a minute left on the "speed kill"
IC HM: Killed steelbreaker within 40 seconds.

Now mind you this was all with a standard 2 tank 2 healer 6 dps setup. No facny 1 healer, 1 tank, 8 dps or anything. Just people geared in 10m H ToC equivilent gear (nothing over 245).

Now lets talk about H ToC itself, having cleared both normal and heroic inside 90 minutes with 1 wipe between it all....

10m's are a complete joke. There is no room for discussion there. Ill agree that a large portion of the difficulty in 25's IS the coordination but it also stands to reasons that tolerances are much tighter in 25's and split seconds often matter much more on the cutting edge of progression. If you dont believe that you havnt faced Algalon or Brutallis 2.0 (I know H25 gormok aint THAT bad but still).
I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money; but what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I've acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now that will be the end of it. I will not look for you, i will not pursue you but if you don't; I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.

Re: What size raid is more fun?

10man is more "hardcore", as you dont have room for fail, and the difficulty is usually tuned higher than on the 25mans. But i still think 25man is better, mostly because im a healer, and its much less to heal^^ And ofc the Vent is more active on 25man
They're (short for They are) describes a group of people. "They're/They are a nice bunch of guys." Their indicates that something belongs/is related to a group of people. "Their car was all out of fuel." There refers to a location. "Let's set up camp over there." There is also no such thing as "could/should OF". The correct way is: Could/should'VE, or could/should HAVE.

I like a challenge. 40man is best for me, but for now I'll settle for 10s and 25s.
