After weeks of "Aion is better than WoW, you guys suck" I am starting to think that Aion will be full of Arrogant Snobs because of these peoples actions.

I'm trying Aion atm, and to be fair there are some interesting things( character customisation), but nothing really worthwhile. There are also a ton of terrible things about the game.
The game controls are very sluggish compared to wow for some reason, also there still needs to be a lot of polishing , especially gfx wise. An example of this would be the mountains look
absolutely horrible in Aion, you have a 100x100 textures slapped on massive surfaces looking very distorted.

Every non-WoW MMO has people who played WoW, and they will have one of the following basic opinions:

People who played WoW and are extremely determined to say that this MMO is better. These people will ignore the fact that most of the MMOs they are playing are 1. In beta, 2. Newly released, 3. Just factually have less content than WoW, and therefore have very obvious indisputable flaws, bugs, or imbalances. Their counter-argument is that WoW is unbalanced and has bugs. It's really convincing. Really.

People who play WoW currently and have no idea what they are doing or how this other MMO works. They will ask very stupid questions (usually) and tend to make it very known that such and such mechanic is "simpler" in WoW. They make tons and tons of comparisons of this game to WoW and will try very hard to tell everyone how much better WoW is.

People who play WoW or used to play WoW who just like playing other games and MMOs, and acknowledge that different games are different. Holy shit, what a concept.

It's just science.

If it follows current trends of newly released MMOs, it will be full of a bunch of people for the first month or two, and then full of no one after that.

i have played the Aion BEta for some days now. and Firstly to say, there isnt anything yet that i think its better in Aion than in WoW, i think Aion is Far away from being "Complete" but im Still gonna give aion a chance. atleast until Cataclysm comes out.
Also they lack instances early on, think the first instance is at like 25.

It won't. Aion has a much better structure than AoC did and much more depth than WAR had. The game has already been released in asia for almost a year and has several million players, it may not be quite as big to the English but I suspect many will still play it for much longer than AoC/WAR/FFXIXICHGASBASJDVKASJDKJHASDKSLDFASDF/etc

Everyone is just desperate for something besides wow. Aion is not as aggresive as wow and wont really make a dint in its armor. I attended the Aion panel at the penny arcade expo, and some of the stuff they said was very disconcerting for any PvE lovers. They want to focus more on sideways progression like making your character how you want it to look and making everything just perfect, rather than a competitive PvE. Alot of things they have, like flying at level 10 and such are too easy to obtain, they make the game less desirable to play after the new car smell wears out. Flying is alot more rewarding when its a bitch to get, rather than hand fed to you. Things will return to normal in a month or two, everyone will lie about saying Aion was the wow killer, and we will continue on our merry way.

Ever looked at the spikes in Blade's Edge? It is also very typical of a WoW player to complain about sluggish controls. You should stick to console games if controls are what worry you.
