1 vs 1

Has there ever been a rated 1 vs 1 bracket? I think it would be crazy fun and it would really show the skill of each player and not someone getting carried by another player. I am not saying that you could get the best gear for this bracket but I would love to see it ;D Anyone else like this idea ?

I agree it would be fun, but it'd be super unbalanced. And no, there's never been a 1v1 bracket.

I don't pvp much at all. Only a casual 2s team.

But... Hell no..

Bliss is starting to make 2v2 obsolete because class balancing issues. 1v1 would be class A beats class B every match, no matter the player. But then class C would poop on class A every match up. And here comes class D who would kill class C and B one on one everytime.

It's how each class is. It will never happen. In order to make it fair, blizz would have to rebalance each class making it so the players skill would decide amtach, not the class. And in doing that, 2s 3s and 5s would all be messed up along with all pve content.

In order to make it "fair" every class would have to have something to counter almost anything tyat all classes had, making 10 completely different classes, 4 closely related classes with different names

Indeed, frost mages would beat warriors, healers would beat frostmages, etcetcetc. no point in it, go durotar/ewlynn an duel thers your 1v1 bracket.

This. And I think the new ability to get instant Cyclones and Heals will be a OP tool in this.

As much as I like doing 1v1, it will be unbalanced as hell. It would be fine if you could get gear equal to TWO levels lower then the 2v2/3v3/5v5 gear tho. That means Deadly, which is also available through honor but this can be way more fun then spamming BG's for some people.

But honestly, 1v1 would require less skill then a 300 rated 5v5 team for some classes, so the answer remains NO if you want to get decent gear through this.

The idea would be ok if it was not rated. I doubt they will ever add the bracket though because this game is not balanced around 1v1. You could imagine the extra drama this would bring (even if it was for fun).

It would not be fun. It would be stupid and frustrating. When i played mage/rogue my rogue would die in 1/2 the matches leaving me to 2v1 (which i could normally turn into 1v1 due to a lack of cooldowns/trinkets on their part) and 1v1 is the stupidest thing in all of wow. ESPECIALLY when you're in a little box full of LOS. Healers are outright OP in 1v1 vs dps classes and thats not going to change. If 1v1 existed then it would have to be balanced around and as such it would kill 3s and 5s.

Edit: And no, i am not a 2500 3s/5s snob, i am simply someone who has done a decent amount of 1v1 above 1800. It is retarded, i promise you.

Certain specs / classes would just wtfpwn everyone. Like a Mage reseting the fight with sheep until enemy has no mana.

But it's not like Blizzard would be stupid enough to add it.

1 v 1 would be healing classes > all. The question would be which healing class could actually kill another healing class... and I think Disc priests would win because of mana burn.

i think they should do this but not really rated, but I do think it would improve people's skills, cuz hell, everytime i duel someone outside org (who is good of course) i learn something that I should be doing better, or something about another class, but yeah what someone said earlier, duels outside elwynn/org is where you should hang out, usually the best pvp'ers stay out there, at least on my server
