Shaman Pvp

Heya.

I have been healing on my Shaman for some time now, and want to start pvp with it.

have elemental as offspec, but no gear, just do it for quests and stuff in my healing gear.

But before i buy my first pvp gear i want o know whats the strongest build PvP wise.

Elemental or Enhancement ?

have the mace from Brewfest and the one from ToC 5 HC. Will it do ?

Can someone put up some good PvP specs in Talent Calculator for me ?

The bewfest mace and ToC 5hc mace will be fine.
Both are around the same pvp wise. Elemental can burst people very very quickly so it makes them more wanted in a arena team.
If your just planning to BG then either of them will do the job.

Think i will go for elemental then, Gonna do some Arena, just for the fun of it.

But do you think my current mace + shield is ok for it , or should i grind for anything else ?

And a nice PvP specc should be nice

Your weapons will do fine, i run WF/FB for pvp so i dont have to spam frostshock but some run WF/FT or WF/WF for more burst your choice though.

Yur choice with elemental focus i like it when i switch to caster wep+ shield with earthliving on MS stack for a pretty nice insta heal
im trying FS glyph in pvp and its pretty nice instead of SS glyph since most of my MS stacks go to healing or hexing but you must have stoneclaw totem it can be a lifesaver

as elemental pvping is a gamble *although the whole shammy class is when you talk about pvp* but like blizz said we are basicly turrets so what to do is blow shit up, the spec you have wouldent be very usefull pvp but you have most of it right. Take all 3 points out of enhancing totems and put them in astral shift helps alot, also if your offspec is for pure pvp then take points out of unrelenting storm and elemental precision and put them in improved ghostwolf, you can leave the 2 in reverb but i personly like the stun from imp fire nova helps alot combined with earthbind totem take all 5 out of convection and put them in elemental warding *only 6% but thats 6% you have against the enemy* and the extra two in totem of wrath and the last point is your choice but i like it in earths grasp or guardian totems in the enhance tree glyphs would be stoneclaw lava and either thunderstorm or flameshock if you dont have 2p t8 and the key to anyspec as pvping with a shaman get the jump on people, kill them before they can see what just happened if they target you ghost wolf and run like hell then grounding totem earthbind heal run some more FS lava burst run maybe chain lightning if they are far away enough

Is it woth getting the 4 set bonus on Pvp gear, i just think it suxx big time, is it betetr to mix Pve + PvP gear ?

4pc enhance is pretty usefull for pvp i just just 4piece pvp gear then t9 legs for pvp since it gives alot more AP
4pc elemental eh not that usefull its better to get 3/2 piece elemental then 2p restro for the extra 50 resil
also pvping in pve gear is really hard a shammy unless your really great geared elemental that can blow things up in a matter of seconds
enhancement pvp in pve gear is much more hard to due the fact that we are squishy so maybe a couple pieces of pve gear if you do pvp as enhance but i dont use it to much unless i have beserking and a two hander on for massive WF dmg but thats just me :P

If you only gonna do 2v2, as Ele, you should find urself a Protholy paladin. If you dont know any protholy paladin, spec Enh.

I will go 3 vs 3 with some friends, a disc priest and a hunter, just for the fun of it.

Dont play 2s as Elemental, go resto or Enh. Or if you can find an extremely skilled mage or protpala you can try Ele for 2s.

But good luck with ur 3s/5s! Disc/Hunter/Ele could work in 3s pretty well, not 100% sure though.

you need 75 spell penetration for arena if you're being pedantic. you want to mainly go for spell power but to start with, you'll probably have to gem some resilience and stam to be able to survive until you get better gear. good luck though, i have a blast with my ele spec in BGs but i simply don't have to time to farm all the gear necessary to make it in arena.

All i do currently on my shaman is arena and bg with buddies on my shaman. resto atm, its quite easy to find a partner as a healer hunter rogue warrior or dk will work generally well in 2v2 (well meaning you could hit 1800-2100 if you guys work good together and know your class and others). 3v3 with you eventually want to get serious and start wanting high rated items i suggest if you go ele find a healing pally and a destruction warlock and if you go hance to find a healing pally and a hunter. I love arenaing/pvp on my shaman, although i dont feel we are the top of the totem pole so its always fun doing good as one, good luck to you.

You can look me up , I can't link anything on my blackberry , I think I logged with my pvp gear I acually have the 245 4 set t9 , but for you to start out with get wtg items , ring is awsome pants are sweet and get both trinkets the sorcerer disc and the 111 sp one from there easy to get .
I always hate facinh hunter , priest , have you're hunter go bm and rape rpm !! Have fun man it will be fun

It was a fun evening =)

We made a different setup, Warlock, me as elemental and Druid on healing.

Worked pretty good, but damn i squshy in my pve gear ^^

PvPing as an enh shaman is HARD but once you get the basics down and know when to use those totems, it becomes very fun, basically as enh you have to use everything including the kitchen sink, have to kite, purge, interrupt, CC, DPS (of course) sometimes help heal etc. and know what situation it'll be most effective.

example:
fight DKs, frost shock, kite, lay down grounding totem to eat DG and continue till your ready to go up and personal, if you think your going to die, hex, heal kite, then again. (just an example/ quick sum up)

as for spec, I've tried a lot of them for PvP everything from suggested on Wowiki, arena junkies, top enh shaman etc. the one I use is a custom one, so, I think as for spec, try what you find works for you, put a bunch of points in ele for the stun fire nova totem and 5 second shocks, or put some in resto for quick efficient heals, it matters on your play style


from what i seen for ele (never tried the spec) its a turret that if you get close to youll be blasted away, and I'm sure all PvP ele shamans have a blast defending LM in AB or in the middle of EotS

Yup ele is a turret. and i love the burst damage.

made some people fly alot yesterday in the arena with the bridge in the middle ;D
