My Dps in raids always seems to be lackluster, getting there but still a fair margin below the melee dps. From reading other posts it just seems like I need to stack more haste and spell power, although I do think I have more crit than most mages that ive seen. Anyway any advice you might have would be much appreciated.

Lacking some haste. I'd aim for at least 500 as ttw/fire.

Assuming you have sp or boomkin you are 2% over the hitcap.

Your crit is nothing out of the ordinary.

The reason I have so much hit is because the boomkin and the SP in my guild are pretty spotty as far as attendance goes, also the people in my guild are loot whores and will bid up the DKP on anything that is even a slight upgrade.

Get some pieces you can swap in and out depending on whether you need the extra hit.

1.99(1+(x/100))=3
1+(x/100)=3/1.99
1+(x/100)=1.5075
x/100=0.5075
x=50.75%

you'd need 50.75% haste to reach a sub 2 second fireball, which is 1664 haste rating.

((3/2)-1)*3279 = 1639,5 Haste rating (50% haste)

To check it using your formula:
(3)/(1+50/100)) = 2

whoops, sorry, i copied my calculation wrong into the thread. it isn't 1.5705, it's 1.5075. editing right now, thanks for the catch.
