    Mind Flay error

This doesn't happen all the time but it happens a lot more than I want it to. Every so often ill get a message saying:
"Target is Friendly" or "You have no Target." To fix this I have to either use it from my spellbook (I rather not) or replace it with my current Mind Flay on my bars, which just does it again after awhile.

Anyone have this problem or any tips? :'(

Using focuses on friendly targets is bad mmkay.

    IE
    Spell 1: PWS[target=focus]
    Spell 2: /cast MF
wow "why are u trying to MF your focus hur hur"

In this case its better to

    /target focus
    /cast pws
    /targetlast

i have no idea what the macros lines actually are off the top of my head but yeah

Yep, experienced that problem today at Onyxia.Mind Flay would do anything ''target is friendly'' it was saying.
Note: I could put dots up it was just MF that screwed me.

I had the exact same problem. The bug did go away but I sure lost some dps.

    Thought I'd register for this.

I've had this happen several times during Auriaya. Been a while, but if I remember well... selecting another target and flaying that once should allow you to MF your initial target again.

Known bug. On fights with tanks I just hit F twice, which switches to my targets target (the tank) and then his target (the boss) Its a pain but nothing you can do untill its fixed.
When people say "pls" just because its shorter then "please", I feel totally justified to say "No" just because its shorter then "Yes".

Okay cool at least its not just me. It's really a dps killer, not having MF and wasting mana to renew Shadow Word: Pain :'(

Just ignore him, everyone else on the forum does.
I shall die here. Every inch of me shall perish. Every inch, but one. An inch. It is small and it is fragile and it is the only thing in the world worth having. We must never lose it or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

You're new to this section right? Ignore everything Strykzor writes.

@ The baddies who think i dont know what im talking about.
Happened to me several times when i cast beneficial spells on friendly targets and quickly switch back to my DPS target.
Dunno if it has anything to do with Focus targets or not is beyond me but on certain fights i set the DPS target to focus so i can target people in the raid, for dispels etc, IE on faction champs.

But you know what, all you nay-sayers who think im a bad player based on my attitude, well gg, because Most of the time its assholes who are better at this game than the rest.

    Re: Mind Flay error

He's so awesome he quotes himself.

I'm saying that the OP never posted anything about using focus targets, yet you automatically assume that he is. And then write some whack-o macro that makes not much sense by the way you describe it.

Im pretty sure a dps spec losing damage due to a bug is overall a bad thing.

    Re: Mind Flay error

You can try a macro that allways target another player and retargets your last target before you cast MF. Simplest way to do that would be

    /tar <YourName>
    /targetlasttarget
    /cast Mind Flay

or replace the first line with /assist for targetoftarget
