Which Sigil is would you use?

For DPS I am speced for DW frost. Here is my armory link.

Which Sigil would you recomend? I am usinging Sigil of Awareness but was wondering if getting Sigil of Virulence would be worth the badges. I dont get to raid that often so most of the Emblem of Triumph that I get are from doing Heroic dailys. I would hate to spend the emblems on it if it is not going to add a good bit more dps when I could save the emblems for upgradeing a different piece of gear.

Not to be an asshole but f you are mostly doing heroics you dont need triumph gear to do that. Sell crusader orbs.

I do like to raid when I can get the chance to. I am not to concerned with making Gold it is easy enough to do when you spend a little bit of time playing the AH. I am just trying to make sure I get the most bang for my emblem spending so that when I do jump in and raid with my guild I am doing my part.

For DW frost the difference between those 2 Sigils is tooooo low to make a purchase worth it, so I'd go with

dont waste it on the sigil get T9 shoulders for 30 badges. Since you can only get your badges from daily heroic

As DW frost, the bulk of your damage will come from Obliterate (if you're using a proper rotation). With that in mind, Awareness is the better relic for you.

Thanks for the input. I will keep saving and go for the shoulders first. Now I just have to decided if I go for DPS or tanking shoulders first.

awareness is bis for frost only by like .3% with bis gear but it's still worth it

maybe next patch ya can upgrade

Sigil of Awareness is the better choice. If Virulence is better in some scenarios it is only marginally so.

Get the triumph 245 (non tier) shoulders
Get the Emblem of Valor cloak
Get the Toc5heroic bracers
Work on better (read: tier 9) legs
Get toc5heroic boots. The ArP is awesome.

The difference between Virulence and Awareness is very circumstantial in BiS gear. Virulence may come out on top due to stronger diseases and 4 piece t9. However, since you obviously don't have t9 4 piece and top raiding gear, Awareness will benefit you more.

A little more clarification: Since you'll be obliterating a lot in any given frost rotation, Virulence will have a very high uptime. With diseases critting with 4 piece t9 and other high damage procs (Death's Choice/Verdict, for example), you'll have very strong diseases along with a hefty damage gain in other components of your attacks that aren't obliterate. Especially in AoE situations, this sigil shines.

With lower levels of gear (t9 4 piece particularly), however, you'll probably rely mostly on obliterate for you damage due to weaker diseases. The "Double Dipping" mentioned earlier is the fact that Awareness's damage bonus is not only applied 100% to the MH, but 115% to the OH as well due to the talent Nerves of Cold Steel. As such, Awareness gives a tremendous buff to obliterate, especially in Glyph of Disease specs where you'll have 5 obliterates per rotation instead of 4. As such, in anything less than BiS gear and in single target fights, Awareness will win out.

Thanks to everyone for all of the info. Like everywhere on my server there is a shortage of tanks for running heroics so that is why I worry about tanking. I actually started this toon as a tank but have ended up being a DPS toon when it comes to raiding. I try to keep both sets of gear close to the same level.

If I can ever devote more time to raiding I would probably change my professions to BS and JC which seems to benefit both tanking and DPS specs the most.

Straight from their DPS guide. "Good old Sigil of Awareness is the best Sigil for DW Frost when you're saving emblems for T9 gear. Once you're fully covered in T9 then you might consider switching to Sigil of Virulence. However, some people say that Awareness is the way to go and I have to agree considering the fact that endgame gear will have a lot of ArP. This boosts your OB damage even more, whereas the static 200 Strength just won't make the cut. My advice is, until you have all emblem gear you need, even tanking stuff just stick to Awareness and then try Virulence for yourself."

Hmm.. you're saying Obliterate crits more often with Awareness? It's a flat dmg increase and doesn't increase the crit rate, just the avg. dmg.

Virulance does have an 85% uptime, and also pick it up try it and if you don't like it, just take it back for a refund.

use awareness, it doesn't cost you badges has higher dps based on elitistjerks AND ensidia guide (read for content not skim)

at bis gear it is .3% higher dps so use it.

that is 25 badges you can use to get the t9 shoulders and or gloves the t9 2 piece bonus is much more plus the actual item upgrade.
