What would have been the best first tier raid in WotLK?

I see a lot of posts about how the first tier raid (Naxx) in WotLK is recycled content. So I was wondering about this. What would be a better raid for the first tier instead of Naxx?

    ---

Personally, I think a raid about the Nexus war could have worked very well. The entire area of colderra could be a raidzone. With first an outdoor wing in which we fight a few bosses, and Saragosa as last boss. Then we head into the Nexus. obv a bigger area then the current dungeon with more unique bosses, but keri would work well as a final boss of the wing. Next Oculus, then as final boss Malygos in the Eye of eternity. Would have given so much more love to the nexus war. To balence for the loss of the dungeons, one of the necropoli in Borean tundra could have been turned into a dungeon.

Well, I agree on one thing.

They needed to fucking expand the Nexus war beyond two 5-mans, a raid, and a daily quest/quests leading up to it.

You realize that Malygos kidnapped Keristrasza because she and we together killed Saragosa, Malygos's consort. Coldarra is like prologue for the instances and the raid there.

Naxx had to be used in this expansion. It was either as the first tier or as the tier prior to ICC.
If there had to be a different one, i don't know. Something with Trolls....

nax is an instance made for 40 people so its not that awesome in a 25 man.

AJZOL NERUB!!!! would of been a best 1st tier

Zul'Again would have made more sense, and wouldn't have taken an excellent raid and made it into a dumbed down, first grade version of its former glory in the process.
Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

Not 100% certain, but they could've added some Crystalsong (Preferably Nexus War) Raid to give more love to the zone and the war, plus it would be right at the foot of dala.

Pretty certain I read that back when it was still alpha, they were going to do a viking raid. I think it was even UP that was suppose to be the raid, but during the beta I think they just turned it into a heroic. I was actually disappointed about that, but oh well. Azjol was suppose to be a whole zone witha 5 man and a raid, I THINK, I'm not sure. Those woulda been cool raids though.

Azjol, Utgarde, and The Nexus all would've made great large raid dungeons. At least there was still the eye of eternity and the nexus bit got some love. Oculus was still pretty cool though imo.

My vote would be for Azjol, because all that stuff you can see in the distance whilst in Old Kingdom looks pretty badass.

Easily fixable. Remove that quest, make Saragosa a boss you need to go through at first with Keri's help, and then make Keri a boss later in the instance. Play the event out more or less the same way.

It seems like Gundrak was supposed to be a raid but it got scrapped. There's the whole fortress we never go into. And obviously AN

I think Utgarde Catacombs was supposed to be an Utgarde raid originally, at least that's what I was remembering.

There were 3 places were they could of made a tier 1 raid instead of naxx-

    1. Azjol Nerub. Lots of wasted lore in the duel 5 mans

    2. Gundrak. The main temple and the BIG snake would of made an epic instance

    3. Larger version of EoE

Azjol-Nerub definitely. Theres too much lore behind that place to make it only a quick 10 minutes dungeon.
