Why is my dps so low?

How much dps SHOULD i be doing?
In 25 I barely do over 6k dps..
My priority is:
KS
BA
ES
SS
AS
SS

Also my latency is fine 150~~

Please help i almost got out dps'd by a less geared hunter than me,,,

There are a few reasons why people with lesser gear could and should be outdpsing you.

1. Even with 2 points in focused aim you're below the hit cap. For hunters it is 8% and you are barely above 7.

2. Your spec is wonky. First off you don't have GFTT. That's been a locked point in every raiding build for quite a long time now. Without it you're gimping your pet damage. You're also missing 3/3 Noxious stings, which is another 3% damage lost. Instead you've build into a lot of what should be unnecessary mana regen.

3. Pet spec is pretty horrible too. You're sacrificing a decent pet dps souce with Rabid for a pet rez that shouldn't be needed. You're also sacrificing avoidance (which is not recommended until they make it innate in 3.3) for a whole crap load of pet movement. Charge, Boar's Speed and the 2nd point in Bloodthirsty aren't efficient for raiding.

Hit up the hunter section of elitistjerks and do some reading. It's all there.

Point 2 and 3 yeh i agree but 1 if you look carefully I'm alliance and i get 1% hit buff >.>

1. Spec. Take 2 out of improved stings and put one in GftT and one in focused aim, hit capping you. Take 2 points out of hunting party and put them in noxious stings. Or all 3 if the 3% agi loss isn't too bad and you know replenishment will be up from someone else.

3. Are you making sure to be on boss as much as possible? Are you making sure your rotation and priority is flawless?

This does 6k give or take in a 25 man, which means aside from spec, it's probably an issue with you making sure your timing is on par and you're prioritizing properly.

He's got 2 piece T9 so he should be 3/3 improved stings. Not only is it a damage boost standing still but it greatly enchances dps while having to keep mobile. The 2 points in Focused Aim limits your choice of talents though.

If you had the hit rating in your gear I'd take Muffin's armory drop hunting party entirely and lose a point in thrill of the hunt (or one in resoucefulness if your mana is a serious issue) and add those 3 points to improved stings.
