WSG: Exploit or clever use of game mechanic?

So I was doing WSG a few days ago with a buddy of mines and his cousin pretty much we were goofing around.

So anyways my friend who is a Paladin had an idea to see if the flag carrier (his cousin a druid) can be di'ed. So it obviously didn't work so we tried something different.

My friends cousin would drop the flag and soon as the flag debiff wore off my paladin friend would click on DI and his cousin would pick up the flag at the same time and it worked!

So yea last about 3 mins can't be dispelled and you won't drop the flag or get the MS debuff on you.

So what do you guys think? A clever use of game emchanic or exploit?

Without a doubt an exploit, you are gaining an unfair advantage over your opponents in PVP.
It's probably not a good idea to use this trick again, may even want to report it in case someone in that WSG did as well.

The entertainment industries are usually the last to be hit by reccesions

ummm? can't you not move at all when di'ed? i fail to see the accomplishment besides turn the fight into a 3 minute DEFEND THE MIDDLE!
I'm glad to have multiple personalities, if i didn't i would be talking to myself, and that's just insane.

It allows more team members to get there. If it was 2 of them vs 5 of the opposing team, it gives their team the time to even the odds.

I'd report the bug so you don't get banned for exploiting. It would be short, but still annoying.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this forum is NOT grammar school, this forum IS a gaming community. We ask everyone to post in their best-as-possible English.

We do NOT want to see people getting bashed for poor English writing skills. I read the OP's post and I understood him perfectly fine if I put some effort into it. If you are unwilling to put effort into reading a post, please don't put effort in writing your unwanted opinion about it's grammar/spelling/choice of words.

    Usually.

This recession has kicked the crap out of the game industry.

I doubt it phased Blizzard much, but so many small studios and publishers went under in the last year, and the big publishers also did massive rounds of layoffs and studio closures.

Job losses in the game industry in the US for the first part of this year at least were running well ahead of US unemployment rates. It's been an ugly year.

It also provides 3 minutes of complete immunity, as DI can't be removed by the enemy, even with Mass Dispel or Shattering Throw. Imagine someone using this exploit while they were leading the game with less than 3 minutes to go.

Re: WSG: Exploit or clever use of game mechanic?

Since you tried it first, it didn't work, and you used a loophole in the spell priority queue or something like that and got both the flag and a DI, it's clearly and exploit. Now, please report this matter yourself.

you wont get banned if you dont report it bc it was an accidental exploit. Ive accidentally exploited a few times and nothing has ever happened to me.

Blizzard is actually expanding and hiring, and has been doing so throughout the recession.

An exploit is an action that goes against the purpose the game was intended for. Sometimes is hard to know if it was Blizzard purpose (remember fire resistance debuff in UBRS for Molten Core?) but in this case, since when you cast DI on the FC the flag drops, it's not their purpose that a FC can hold the flag for 3 minutes being immune to everything... if it wasn't clear enough using your logic :P
World of Warcraft is merely a setback...
