they'll never give shamans swords cus locks and mages and paladins will qq bigtime about us stealing their loot. we just need more spellpower fists tbh

It's the kind of change that makes a lot of sense but will take another year or two to get implemented. Enjoy seeing useless fast axes until then.
Actually, Mr. Lennon, I CAN imagine a world with no hatred, religion, war, or violence.
I can also imagine attacking such a world, because they would never see it coming.

Just sad, since people QQ if we roll on staffs, people QQ if we get swords, yet it takes blizzard an average of 2 tier patches to give shamans a dagger or mace with no spirit (or at least more then 1 option...you get this or you are screwed...then other classes take it over you qq).

Enjoy seeing useless fast axes until then.
I find this funny, as ONLY 1 class will use fast axes (well, fast offhands in general), yet blizzard gives them several options every content patch, but punishes other classes because "If we offered items for every class/spec their would be a lot of wasted items.

BTW, Lionhead Slasher has dropped for us EVERY DAMN WEEK so far, yet we only run with 1 rogue most of the times...it's to the point where we are thinking about selling 1 raid possition for that axe, just for this one encounter instead of giving it to ppl so they can get "WTF NOOB" reactions in dal (enchanted with spirit or battlemaster of course). Nope, you don't have wasted items in game, not all all /end sarcasm.
No Darten, Elemental exists so resto shamans don't have to spend a minute to kill mobs when doing dailies.

sure. give shamans 2handed sword dualwielding and sword spec making them hit double at a 10% chance, while ur at it improve windfury enchantment proc at a 50% rate. no 200% rate.

I'm not into the hunter class but I still see some running around with 2 1H's
And there is a certain DK spec where the offhand speed is completely unimportant (dw unholy, one of the best specs atm with BiS gear)
But ye those are just a few, I also think there are in general way too many fast weapons out there compared to the amount of players using them.

Besides that, lore/classwise, I think shaman and swords makes as much sense as rogues and axes (as in, NOT AT ALL)
A sword is far from let's call it a "tribal" weapon like axes and maces are.
And rogues use smoothness and stealth and precision and all that, perfectly suits sharp weapons like swods and daggers, axes are just for chopping around which really doesn't fit the rogue class.

take some time to drop by alterac valley and pay a visit to drek'thar.
sayin' lorewise this or classwise that is kinda pointless when there are actual exemples of shaman npcs using swords.

I didn't count Hunters, since they don't care what weapons they use (since their weapon that they care about is their bow/xbow/gun, like saying their are too many tank guns, not enough tank bows for a warrior...he doesn't care, just goes for the stats on them). I forgot about dw unholy, but isn't 2-handed unholy better (not that it matters really).

Also, they should give swords to shaman (yes QQ I know) because so far almost all the one handed spell DPS weapons from ICC are swords so shaman can`t use them. There are healing maces and daggers with spirit and spell dps staves but not many ele shaman weapons.

    rofl.....

    LOREWISE!!!

    question 1:
Q: Who are we currently trying to kill?
    A: Lich King

    question 2:
Q: Who is the Lich King?
A: Ner'zhul (Arthas merged with him but hes the original)

    question 3:
    Q: what class was Ner'zhul?
    A: shaman

    question 4:
Q: What was the Lich Kings weapon he used to corrupt Arthas?
    A: frostmourne

    question 5:
Q: what kind of weapon is frostmourne?
    A: sword

therefore according to the current most important sword/boss in wow, shamans wield swords... apparently Blizzard forgot their own lore

Blizzard seems to have forgot Ner'zhul was a shaman...maybe because they forgot shamans were a class

the sword for archi, kt, and a shitton others have always had the best stats for elem....but blizz says fuck u, so far there has been 1 sp fist

    Re: Shamans and swords?

If you read Lord of the Clans, Thrall, Azeroth's number one shaman, used a 2H sword as his weapon during all the internment camp raids until Doomhammer died when he took his mace and armor.

Yes, but you can't wear that goddamn sword.. A mace, axe and dagger is possible, even a 2-handed mace/axe, but 1-handed sword is just waaaay to complicated.

    Re: Shamans and swords?

He was a necromancer when he got a sword. Necromancer = sorta mage/lock thingy.
And even at that, he never actually wielded Frostmourne. It was mainly a focal for his power.

He's dual classed gladiator cuz he thinks he's better than us.

I'm all for shamans getting swords but know your lore.
