    Re: Alchemy Specialization

I would imagine elixir if you're on a server that is filled with raiding guilds.

    depends on your server's economy...

break it down... sell price of final product - cost of the mats = profit...

I preferred Transmutation personally myself. You could realistically buy the mats, transmute, sell back the finished product and profit, with very little time spent farming.

With elixir mastery if you were to buy the mats, sell back the finished product, you could end up losing money depending on market prices.

Now obviously you can farm for frost lotus, which leaves you room for unlimited potential based on the time you put in it, and really it's not a bad way to make money overall, but it'll depend on how much time you planned on spending in this money sink. Short and steady is transmutation but you could make a lot of money if you were able to farm frost lotus with any regularity.

Haven't tried elixir in a really long time, mostly due to low demand for elixirs on my server and extremely high flask competition.

I have xmute mastery on 3 characters, I never make or use elixirs myself and I rarely use flasks (since I'm not a raider, I just pug every now and then) so it servers me well.

    Elixir spec applies to flasks...
Real Paladins have the Charger Feat of Strength.

Both transmute and elixir mastery are good, but for easy-to-make constant flow of money I would choose transmute

    Re: Alchemy Specialization

Never really tried 2 other specs but Transmute spec is really nice. I just log in for 2 min with my alch alt each day to transmute an epic gem and with that specialization i have a chance for double profit!

Elixir ftw. Especially if you proc really well when making for other people. I've been tipped 50g for getting nice procs on raid flasks for people.

    Re: Alchemy Specialization

Like most questions on how to make gold from prof. specs it depends on your server. Xmute spec is good for people with not much time on their hands and don't have the time for farming. Elixer is good if your server has plenty of raiders and if you farm your own mats. The other option is potion spec which is the most underated spec imo, if your a herber farm either lichbloom or adder's tongue and make potions of speed/wild magic, sell just before peak raiding times on your sevrer, sell the frost lotus your herber finds for extra profit.
    sig too big

Which is why I mentioned elixirs AND flasks in regards to elixir mastery.

actually the amount of epic gems you get from x-mutes each time you use them all is between 4 and 20. 4 being very bad luck and 20 being very good luck (all being X5 procs).

    Re: Alchemy Specialization

Elixir if you want to invest a lot of time to craft flasks for the AH.
Transmute if you want to make a lot of money without investing much time (you can transmute anyway, but the specialisation averages out to about 15% freebies, each worth easily 100g).

Potion is kinda worthless with the limit per battle, but it might also be a niche especially for the haste potions for certain encounters.
