[Help] Freshly dinged hunter!

So I've recently dinged my hunter and I need some pointers and advice.

First of all I'm wondering which rotation I should try to follow.

Second: How good is ARP compared to AGI as Survival.

Third: What's the hit cap for Survival hunters ?

Hit cap still 263 with 0/3 in Focused Aim

i believe the survival rotation is

Kill Shot->Serpent Sting->Black Arrow->explosive shot->aimed shot->steady shot rinse repeat. correct me if im wrong though =D

Although clearly the fact you post a new thread when actually clicking 'search' which would've used less time I doubt it. You'll probably want someone to click the links and read it out for you as well as respec, gear and most likely play your toon.. sigh.

The SV shot priority is:

Kill Shot > Black Arrow > Explosive Shot > Aimed Show > Serpent Sting > Steady Shot

I wouldn't stick to this rigidly though, at least when it comes to serpent sting. It depends a lot on your playstyle, how attentive you are, and whether you have it glyphed or not.

If you glyph serpent sting, the duration becomes 21s (15s base + 6s from glyph). This is 3s shorter than Black Arrow (24s CD) or 2GCDs.
As such, you can cast Black Arrow (1GCD) cast your next high-priority shot (1GCD) and then cast serpent sting, and then by the time Black Arrow is ready to cast again, it will be time to cast serpent sting again. This way, you can avoid having to watch timers or debuff frames when it comes to keeping serpent sting up, as you always cast it just after Black Arrow.

I use this macro to make this even simpler:

Stick it on your action bars and just press it twice instead of once, with an explosive/aimed shot in the middle if they are available. Works a treat if you aren't fussed about watching bars, or want to keep a minimalist UI.

You need 1 point in GftT.

Also, I'd suggest using Serpent as a starter, since you have Noxious Stings.

Serpent should never be an opener as SV (unless switching to adds and everything else is on CD) because your high dmg shots have a CD, meaning the sooner you cast them the sooner they will be off CD again, which is beneficial.

KS > ES > BA > AiS > SrS > Steady is the way to go.
