in the ret tree if they remove the threat it does and let it do dmg and interrupt to add to our rotation and add a much needed interrupt?
i know i use it alot for farming and killing just regular mobs
good idea?
bad idea?

this has been posted before on mmo when it was brought in the game. there has also been a suggestion to make a glyph for it
i hope so, i would love that!!!!
If they removed the taunt-effect and let it keep its damage (and threat from it) with a glyph, I'd get the glyph, and I'd spam in on CD.
As a Protadin.

wish they'd just make you talent for it

Actually, I use the single-target taunt a lot when Ret.Originally Posted by Maklor

remove the dmg, make it usable against players and maybe extend the cd a couple of seconds.

Or make CS baseline and toss the interrupt there....Originally Posted by Ascal
4 second cd interrupt would be too strong in PvP. Extending the CD on CS would weaken our DPS. Buffing CS to balance the increased CD would buff our burst as well, something blizz clearly doesn't want to do.Originally Posted by Ronark

They could make it work like the Earth Shock interupt would be nice to have. Though if they do that it should be on something like 10-15sec cd instead of 6/4 atm otherwise it would be op.

That wouldn't be balanced at all. Our CS is a reasonably large portion of our DPS. It's an ability we are using already. Compare that balance to DKs, rogues, warriors, shamans, mages, w/e. They all have a separate ability that deals very little to no damage specifically for interrupting. That ability is not part of their normal rotation. Even if they pushed CS back to an 8 second CD, it still wouldn't be balanced. The interrupt needs to be just like everyone else's. You can't just spam your attack on CD and benefit from the fact that it interrupts too.Originally Posted by Ronark
You tell that to the Bomb Bots on Firefighter Mimiron and Lady Deathwhisper's Reanimated Fanatics.Originally Posted by Maklor
Just because paladins use protection spells with retribution spec, doesn't change the fact that they are indeed protection spells. Just like you sometimes use flash of light and holy light with both protection and retribution, but it remains a holy spell.Originally Posted by Ronark

Welcome to the world of hybrids. Telling a ret pally not to use HoR is like telling a holy pally not to spec into ret for the increased crit chance or a prot pally not specing for Imp Judgements, Vindication, or Deflection.
Exorcism is a Holy tree spell. So is Consecration. You aren't telling me to stop using those as ret in my DPS rotation. STFU and stop whining. Every hybrid uses abilities and talents from the other trees. The same applies to every non-hybrid. Rogues put points into multiple talent trees. Rogues use abilities found in all three of there talent spell books.
Get off your high horse.
That a damage move which interrupts would be on a GCD and hence a bad candidate for an interruopt.Originally Posted by Travers
That a baseline interrupt needs to do zero damage.
That 8s CD is probably too short for Ret.
That HoR is nigh on perfect right now and changing the spell that much means its better off with a new spell.
Overall? Bad idea.
